Painful TLIF lumbar screws and plate plus cage and it was wrong operation - I knew it and my instincts proved correct
3 weeks in hospital excruciating pain
Cage never set so just floating
Wouldn’t explain anything
8 years later had correct operation at John Flynn as all my nerves were dying heading for wheel chair

Do NOT waste your time or money. Had a booking for 3.15pm and at 4.30pm still waiting thus had to reschedule because was not going to be seen untill after 5pm. Then yesterday had reschedule appointment and still had to wait over 1 houronly to see hime and told you have AVM and have to book you into someone else.This last 5 to 10 minutes and cost $360 and told nothing other then you born with AVM, learnt more about it at home doing a google search.
In the end could have been a phone call to say you have AVM and we have to refer you to someone else and NOT wasted my 3 hours waiting plus $360.
Pretty sure this is just a scam and way to get paid over $36 for 10 minutes of nothing.
When you have to pay for medical appointments alias NOT bulked billed the at over $300 consultation feeyou should get

1. Seen at exact time of appointment (At worse 5 minutes late )

2. At least 30minutes minimum consultation and given information or details on the problem.

Agree with other reviews this doctor should only be bulk billing with wasting time, not on time or giving patient no information and only less than 10 minutes consultation.

Medical system in Australia is totally third rate and wasting money building stadiums when should be on more hospitals.

It is hard reading the negative reviews here as I have nothing but appreciation and gratitude for Dr Tan. An amazing surgeon who is incredibly talented. XLIF surgery a year ago and not one problem since. Yes, he is busy and yes he is a little different but he is also ver funny and caring. Definitely recommend him if you want honest and knowledgeable opinion.

Dr Tan has to be the most obnoxious, rude person l think I've ever met and definitely the most unprofessional I've met in the medical industry.
After years of acute back pain, Dr Tan was my last and only hope.
I tried to ask questions, politely, and his reply was; "shut up and listen," and when asking a simple question about the possibility of steroid injections, he again replied; "shut up and listen, you're annoying me."
On leaving, close to tears he said; "there's nothing you can do apart from take paracetamol and just go to the car wreckers and get a new spine."
Dr Tan has to be the most uncaring, unethical man l think I've ever met and l was shocked by his attitude for someone that is incredibly, regarded as a professional.

No fluffing about - to the point with no messing around.

A total waste of time and money. Told me nothing, did nothing and said come back in 3 months. I asked what could I do to help the pain, he said walk, that is the one thing I am in too much pain to do. Didn't appreciate his sense of humour, told me he was going to make lots of money out of me in the future - I don't think so, I won't be back. I went there to find help and did not receive any.

There are several dr tans in one body
A joker in his suites a moody idiot in hospital and it runs thru his staff
Arrogant smart arses
Spent 3 weeks instead of one for a so called microsurgery tlif lumbar
Huge pain never have recovered
What’s worse I don’t think I really needed that operation $$$$$
