I have been asking fir my medical records since December 2021 and they declined it to give them to me, a lady with the name of Yamilee is really rude , told me that she does not have my records because they are putting a new system , I told her that since December I’m asking for it and that they should have a back up with the records. At the end never got my records I went to Francisco Borjas MD a orthopedic, that told me that I need therapy not like Ismael Montane told me that I needed surgery , get a second opinion first.

In 2004 he screwed me up for life. He made an "accidental laceration" in my spinal dural sac severing multiple nerves causing them to never repair themselves & die. He left me with permanent damage in multiple ways: I have extreme numbness (vagina, buttocks and the entire back of my left leg down to my ankle), I have to use urinary catheters because I have no sensation to urinate & have to use an alarm that goes off every 4 hours to tell me to pee, nerves misfire down my left leg which I need medication to calm them & the pain they cause, I still have major back pain, I don't know when I have to defecate & forget making it to the toilet if I have diarrhea, sciatic nerve pain is worse than before surgery, I have constant hip pain where he took a piece of bone to fuse into my spine, etc., etc. The metal rods & screws he put in were causing me so much pain, I had them removed two years later by another surgeon because you couldn't pay me to go back to him. He brushed me off after surgery.

If it hadn't been an emergency, and I had read the reviews - I wouldn't have let him cut me. My ankle was broken and at a 90 degree angle. He set it well and it is healing. But his staff is really bad. Individually they are fine, but trying to get anything done by them is terrible. Appointments, paperwork, anything, forget it. You have to ask over and over and they just have no urgency for anything. On the phone they told me to pick up paperwork for disability parking sticker from DMV, take it to them to get filled out and return it to DMV. It took days. I had to be driven and using my knee walker, when I picked it up, the woman at the window said - "Oh, we have that form here. We could have faxed it to you.” Incompetent is the only word that fits.

Dr. Montane and his staff are rude, nasty and inconsiderate. They seldom return phone calls, give you misinformation, and are just plain incompetent in most aspects. Dr. Montane is not well liked by the team of doctors treating me for the pre and post-op surgery complications. I asked for my medical records and there is information that is inaccurate. Dr. Montane is arrogant and has a very poor bedside manner. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Great surgeon but horrible bedside manner. He diagnosed me right away and the surgery went off without a hitch. He needs a personality though!

I suspect this guy is a sadist. He's an orthpaedic doc and he the 3 times I went, everyone was waiting a good 2 hours. There were old folks in wheelchairs in pain sitting in that position. A person in the waiting room spoke outloud to everyone to say it's always this way and it was cruel. He was unable to diagnose the chondromalacia I had and acted as if my pain and discomfort was hypochondria and that I needed to do some exercises that he told me to do. Turned out, the exercises would exacberate the condition rather than help. No help with pain management - I wasn't sleeping because of the pain. This guy should not be practicing - as I said, I think he is a sadist acting as a doctor. Scary.

I was referred to Dr. Montane by the emergency room at South Miami Hospital after coming in with a fractured radial head. Dr. Montane glanced at my x-rays from across the room and never actually examined my arm without the splint on. I told him I had been in a lot of pain and that the bones in that part of my arm felt all jumbled. He told me I just needed physical therapy. Over the next few weeks the pain didn't improve and my arm was still stuck at a 90 degree angle. I saw a doctor up at college in New Hampshire (I had been home in Miami when I fractured my elbow) and it took him 10 seconds to realize what was actually going on, and he operated on my arm soon after. My new doctor told me that if I had come to him any later I would have permanently lost a lot of function in my left arm. Fortunately, my arm is in pretty good shape today. But to add insult to injury, Montane's office charged me for follow up visits I didn't have, and I had to fight like hell to get the charges removed.
