If I could I would give Julie Jones a negative rating I would! What happened to us, happened in 2014. Reading one of the reviews below made my heart sink because as with us the heart beat of the unborn child was ignored. The day of the delivery Julie had a family event and left for hours leaving her obligation to my daughter and her baby. The babies heart rated kept dropping and no one did anything. We “trusted” Julie but by the time she got back it had became a emergency situation and a OB was finally called in for a emergency c-section. My grandson was born within minutes of losing his life. He was life flighted to Primary’s. The end of the story is that he suffered severe brain damage at the hands of Julie Jones. This should have never ever happened but Julie neglected her obligation as a “midwife”! We filed a law suit and let’s just say it went in our favor. If anyone is considering seeing Julie, please reconsider. It’s not worth the risk that your taking by being under her care.

I am so grateful for Julie... She has delivered all four of my children. I never had any problems with any of my deliveries and my babies were all completely healthy at birth. She was so good at memorizing all of my birth plans to a "T" and making every experience with her during my appointments and birth so sincere and has always taken so much time with me addressing any questions or concerns that I had. Throughout the last ten years of going to her I have solely had perfection from her and her staff. She has always gone overboard, in a good way, to make every visit with her amazing! She made each delivery so special too. I trust her with my life and my baby's life full heartedly! Her knowledge is so in depth and drawn from decades in the field. When I found out she was retiring (only from delivering babies) I was devastated. I knew I was still having one more child and the thought of having to go to anyone else was a thought I didn't even want to consider. She is more like family to me than my midwife. I highly recommend her... I still see her for any gynecological needs I have at The Health Spot in Sandy Utah.

Originally, I had started with Mandy Johnson and absolutely adored her. A few years in, I had to switch to July. I met her first during my annual appointment and thought she too was amazing. Loved her personality, attention and humor. Now, she may have been on her best behavior because she had an intern following her because every interaction after was super frustrating. I am hypothyroid and have to have thyroid hormones to manage it appropriately. Additionally, I travel for work quite frequently. I had switched meds and needed to be retested but ran out of them before I had to leave, she would not refill the meds as a stop gap to get me by until I retested. I got back in town a week later asked again for a stop gap, the team refused. I came in, got tested and the gal told me to call the next day to get them expedited. I called and was told to go to the portal because that is how they will communicate with me. Went to the portal, my test showed I needed more medication. Well of course it did, I had no meds for 3 weeks. Julie said she had called in new meds. Pharmacy kept telling me there was nothing on file. I called AGAIN to be told that Julie had never called them in but she would TRY to get something done for me. It has been a month without a refill, many calls, a test, a portal and no good resolution. Maybe she is an awesome midwife, but if you have to rely on her for any other type of issue be warned, not very helfpful and neither is the staff.

Before I get started I would like to mention that I have waited five months to leave my review so I could share my experience without my emotions getting in the way. I apologize in advance for the length. I went to Julie after getting pregnant almost immediately after a miscarriage. In my first visit she was very sympathetic, happy to answer all of my millions of questions, very bubbly, quirky, and I thought she was what I was looking for. Every visit I had after that I was waiting 1.5-2 hours for my 15 min appt. One time I waited just over 2 hours and then was told she wasn't there- they skipped my appointment and didn't bother reschedule. During my pregnancy I called into the office a few times with concerns I had and what signs I should be looking for if something went wrong- I was just so scared of losing my baby again. The receptionists were extremely rude, and Julie had a hard time getting back to me in a timely manner. I called in at about 22 weeks with some pains I had including cramps, pressure downwards in my uterus, and having a hard time walking. I read on the internet that it could be signs of labor, but the internet is the internet. I needed a professional opinion. It took her over 48 hours to get back to me. As a first time mom I had no idea what labor pains felt like and I was terrified. When she finally did call she told me it's probably my body getting used to using different muscles and I should be fine, but she'd check everything at my next appt (a week from then) "just to be safe." At that appt she measured my belly and looked for the heartbeat- just your typical check up. When she was using the Doppler she was having a hard time finding the heartbeat, but finally said "Oh, there he is! Everything seems fine." I was very shocked to hear that because the heartbeat sounded so slow- It sounded like mine. And we had never had a hard time finding it. But I'm a 21 year old first time mom and Julie's been doing this a long time. I didn't question her. Anyway, at the following monthly visit we measured and looked for the heartbeat (still slow in my unprofessional opinion.) I asked her for my prenatal records in case something happened on the "babymoon" I was going on. After my trip I decided I was really unhappy with my whole experience and decided to go to a new midwife. I had my first appt with the new midwife the first week of my third trimester. When she measured me I seemed a little small. She had a hard time finding the heartbeat. After an ultrasound it was confirmed that he didn't make it. He measured 21 weeks, and certain details I'm positive you don't want to know confirmed he'd passed two months prior. (We induced labor 1.5 weeks later and got to hold our son.He was beautiful and perfect.) I called Julie to let her know what happened. I told her that I wasn't calling to blame her, but I wanted to let her know that I wished she'd taken my concerns more seriously. I also mentioned the poor response time, the receptionists, and I told her that I wish she would have slowed down during our visits. I think it's reasonable to say she should have known that something was wrong; She should have known the difference between the baby's heartbeat vs mine. But she was always trying to rush through our appt. I'm still not sure what I was hoping to accomplish in that call. I just thought she could learn from it and possibly prevent something like that with a future mom-to-be. She responded very cruelly. She said that I was ungrateful, she bent over backwards for me my whole pregnancy, that it was my fault for not pushing my concerns more persistently, and then asked me why I was calling her when I switched to a different midwife. She ended with advising me to wright her a letter with what I think she should change about herself and hung up. (No, I didn't wright one. That's silly and offending her was not my goal.) I still don't blame her- she can't prevent horrible things like this happening to people. But she was too busy for me. To address my concerns. To give me a call back. And in the absolute lowest point in my life she was spiteful and made me feel so worthless. That I should have known and that it's my fault he didn't make it because I wasn't persistent enough. I'm not saying Julie is a bad person. But I am saying that if you have concerns, have any history with miscarriages/stillborns, a risky pregnancy, or even choosing a midwife for the promised closeness and more personal involvement in your pregnancy, don't go to Julie. If you were able to get through all of this- I thank you.

I love julie. She has been so helpful with my first pregnancy. I dont feel comfortable around doctors thats why I decided to see a mid wife. She was completely supportive of my birth plan. I do have to wait a bit to see her during my appointments but its worth because she takes her time with me and answers every question.

I absolutely love Julie she is so friendly and caring. With my first pregnancy I saw Paula Thacker wasn't thrilled by her. Well Paula was out of town when my daughter decided to come so Julie delivered her. I was immediately impressed with the jokes she made during delivery and how loving she seemed. I don't think I could ever go anywhere else.

The nurse assistant wasn't very friendly towards me, but typically when I go, the staff is very friendly. Julie was phenomenal (as she always is for me!) I've been seeing her for 13 or 14 years now. She delivered my -now 12 year old. I'll admit I was hesitant when I first went to her, because I had no interest in a natural childbirth, and at the time, I wasn't even pregnant or trying to concieve. But Julie's sincere interest in my health and well being are what's kept me going back. Now my 21 year old sees her, as well as some of her in laws.

I LOVE Julie! I've had two out of three of my babies with Julie. My last baby was delivered by Paula Thacker whom I found to be very good as well. I have known Julie for almost six years now and she has always been completely supportive of my decisions. She has allowed me to do a Hypnobirth and I am pretty sure that she would allow me to have a water birth if I wished it. She has always gotten back to me when I needed her to answer a question. She has always had a friendly manner during our visits and treats me like I'm her favorite patient! During the labor with my first child, she had me play tug-of-war with her because my little guy got stuck and she didn't want me to have a c-section. I've always felt like I was in the best hands with Julie and will continue to drive 1 1/2 hours to have her deliver my babies!

I had such a great experience with Julie. The staff and Riverton Healthcare for Women is super helpful and nice. Everyone treats you with respect and takes a personal interest in you. Julie was fantastic. When I was 35 weeks pregnant I developed an intensely itchy stomach which turned out to be a very rare liver condition which can cause still birth. Julie immediately knew what it was and was able to get me the right blood tests and medication. She spent lots of extra time talking to me and educating me about my condition, even when she was on vacation! Julie offered the perfect support when I was in labor and I was able to have a wonderful natural birth. I delivered 3 1/2 weeks early with no complications thanks to her knowledge and care. I would recommend her to anyone.
