Dr. Scheeres is a wonderful doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. We are fortunate to have him as our doctor.

Wow what a breath of fresh air. For years I have been trying to find a gyno who took an interest in gyno disease and not just prescribe birth control to mask symptoms. Dr. Scheeres was professional, knowledgeable and treated me like an actual human. He validated my concerns and diagnosed during exam . He gave me several treatment options, and set up a followup appt. I also liked that he openly told me if I chose a particular surgery that he would refer me to Mt Sinai or St Joes, there is no shame in admitting something is out of your comfort zone. Truly happy to have had this meeting with him, I wish he was taking family practice pts, I would sign up immediately. I’ll also add that he spent 45 minutes with me when he had several pts waiting, he answered all my questions in detail without rushing me. Thank you endlessly Dr. Scheeres, I’m so glad I found you !

Dr. Scheeres is an incredible doctor who I would highly recommend. He was recommended to me by a friend who evidently also found him to be an outstanding doctor. I had two C-sections, one emergency and one planned. During both experiences, Dr. Scheeres demonstrated extensive knowledge and skill as well as supportive bedside manner. The surgeries were both flawless and set me up for a quick and healthy recovery. He is also our family doctor and his clinic is well-run, with efficient front desk administrators and skilled, compassionate nurses.
Dr. Scheeres is an integral person, who when giving medical advice, provides a set of options and doesn’t force his opinion yet makes suggestions and supports you in making the final decision. He is trustworthy and approachable and my family and I feel very lucky to have him as our family physician.

I would like to give a better rating but since I was referred I haven’t actually been able to meet this doctor yet as all my appointments have been cancelled in favour of phone consults because of Covid. Thus far 7-8 months since what was to be my original appointment I’ve had 3 3-5 minute phone calls, none of which were helpful. I was supposed to get lab work done but after lining up 3 times at the lab the requisition still wasn’t faxed, ended up having to drive to Barrie just to get a paper copy. Mri booking got lost because for some reason they put it under my maiden name I’ve not used in years- so 6 months wasted waiting on lost lab requisition and mri boomed under wrong name. Haven’t found the phone calls helpful at all. Offered nothing but dangerous nerve blocking medication that could cause permanent damage even though I have as yet to get an actual diagnosis. By the time I actually see this doctor I will likely need a post mortem 😂 . Nice telephone voice though from the combined total of 12-15 minutes spent over 3 phone calls.

I have had Dr. Scheeres since he took over for Dr. Becroft. The staff who books appointments make you feel like you are an inconvenience to them, I get anxiety calling them because they rush you so much. When you do talk to them in person they also rush you and make you feel like you are bothering them,, ALWAYS uptight. Gale has improved a lot from years ago (she is more pleasant to deal with then before)
Dr. Scheers has made comments regarding my low weight every time I see him (I am not overweight or underweight). When you explain you have torn a muscle from working out, he tells you to stop working out all together.. no real help there.
I have tried switching doctors but Barrie is a very hard place to find another family doctor. I would NOT suggest coming here and looking for another doctor.

He has been my doctor for years . Hep me carry and son and my twins as far as I could . I truly believe he saved my kids. He is also our family doctor and I could I ask for anyone better

Dr. Scheeres has been my doctor for 10 years now. First as my gynaecologist and now my family doctor. I have had some challenges and rare diagnoses and Dr.Scheeres has been so knowledgeable, attentive, and dependable. His dedication to his patients shows just how much compassion he has for others. Dr. Scheeres has proven to be incredibly trustworthy and I cherish his advice and insight in all of the health decisions I make for myself and my family. The staff in the office are also so helpful and are willing to help in any way that they can. When I walk to into his office I am always put at ease with whatever situation is being thrown our way. I will continue to highly recommend him to all!
