Hospitalist Dr. Tynan is a real piece of work unto himself. Not only is he entirely dismissive but also incredibly arrogant and judgemental of staff and patients. He has a history of changing med orders and care plans without meeting or speaking with a patient, or even understanding the scope of their medical history. Changing, then discontinuing, and then re initiating antibiotic orders for a sever septic infection, without consulting patient or other professionals. Explicitly putting down and discounting the knowledge/ability of other healthcare professionals, only to boast and back up his poor uninformed decision making. Discontinuing previous orders for pain management, after explicitly stating he would not change any orders. He says one thing and does another, and then deflects and argues that he never did anything of the sort. His actions alone cause more harm, more problems, and more damage. All of this without ever understanding the full scope of any one patients medical history. This level of ineptitude is appalling for a "medical professional" with that level of control over a patient's care. Even staff refuse to engage directly with him, or even speak his name. He does not have the respect of any one person that he encounters. Any complaints or feed back made to Interior Health go absolutely no where, with zero follow up. Truely terrifying. Royal Inland Hospital needs to lose this geriatric liability, or they will be further poised to lose more of their competent and passionate employees to the private sector. Changes need to be made, this is wholly unacceptable.

Saw this guy last year in hospital as a 'Hospitalist'. I noticed these reviews are all pretty old. I still tell people about the appalling attitude of this creepy old man. He tried to tell me I had Dementia...then proceeded to speak to me as though I were a mentally challenged child. I do not have Dementia. I had Heat Stroke. I think he has Dementia.

Dr. Tynan looked after me for three weeks in Dec. 2011 while I was in the hospital. I was very sick, flown in by helicopter. I found him to be kind, compassionate, and caring. He was also very knowledgable. I have since seen him in his private practise. I am a former registered and would be pleased if Dr. Tynan was looking after my loved one.

Had him recently at ER/& on the ward and found him professional and punctual however no personal follow on the ward other than one visit before but non after my operation. Was persistent and not possibly a good listener when I asked if we could try an electric cardio conversion first befoe doing the pulse generator implantment. Her stated you need to have it done or give up your license" thats the law!" I told him he had me over a barrell.I thought then while waiting for a second opnion my license would be jankeg and could not be used to transport my elderly mother to her appoitments and other day to day mandatory trips. In lieu I will need to see my GP for possible answers and clarification that Dr Tynan seemed to have not time for after my operation at RIH. He as was corrobarated by another doctor see in the hospital after my operation but as earlier I never saw him other than he gave a note to the nurses station that my old meds will continue. Thanks Ed B

Do NOT consider this doctor for anything other than a common cold!!!! After seeing him over the past 2 years on a number of occassions for chest pain and shortness of breath he ran a few tests and then diagnosed me as able to go back to work. I knew I wasn't ready and something was still seriously wrong so I sought the services of a different dr. after a CT scan of my heart it was discovered all 3 arteries are blocked. 70% in 1 and over 50% in the other 2. I'm now looking at an angiogram and possibly bypass. If I had listened to this guy I'd be a dead man walking. I'm not the only person thats had poor diagnosis from this dr.

This Dr. was in the E.R. when my 89 yr old mother was brought in for shortness of breath. Tynan in his haste to put in an I.V. put it in an artery instead of a vain. They got it corrected about 20 minutes later but it lead to internal bleeding. They finally had to operate to stop the bleeding ( 4 days later ) I believe this was the start of the end, she died 10 days later
