He used an outdated, never to be used procedure called vocal fold stripping which paralzyed my vocal cord. According to best practices in his field this procedure has no use in modern day medicine. He was not trained in 2005 to do any of the new techniques that otolaryngologists use as far as the use of strobovideolaryngoscopy to diagnose my condition, or training in new techniques of microsurgery that perhaps if used could have saved my voice. If an ENT is not familiar with current techniques of treatment for voice, in my opinion, they should always refer out to laryngologists that are trained to do microsugery, thus eliminating chances for a unfavorable outcome such as mine.
