I had a previous dance/diving injury that had been “treated” incorrectly by my previous orthopaedic physician. This treatment resulted in bone on bone damage, which was fixed in on arthroscopic surgery. Unfortunately all of his work has been destroyed by an overzealous physiotherapist by over stretching my knee, so I’m back to bone on bone knee issues.

I unfortunately did not have good results with Dr. Cartan which resulted in me having another surgery to fix the issue.

I had my surgery in May 2009 by Dr. Cartan and he was amazing. He was polite, positive, great bedside manner, answered all of my questions and overall he is the best. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an Orthopaedic Surgeon.

Great doctor! Have know him for 31 years; guess I just aged us both. Always there when I need him. Love the sense of humour.Never feel rushed. Don't know what I will do when he retires!!!! Thanks Steve! You are the best!!!!

I found Dr Cartan friendly-knowledable and has a great bed side manner he made me feel heard I would recommend him to everyone.

Dr. C is very pleasant, great bedside manner. Had bunion op, on both feet, which turned out okay,then had hammer toes repaired which needed re-doing on both feet. I'm left with major nerve damage thus poor circulation, toes are fused to foot. I am not pleased but will have to live with it. I had good references from other patients, but my case did not turn out well.

Dr. Cartan is great. I have been seeing him all year for a bad knee. He did what he could but am now scheduled for a knee replacement. I will be his 1st surgery in 2010. Great bed side manner and Laureen in the office is great as well, Couldn't ask for better care all round. Lezlie

Can't say enough good things about Steve Cartan. Excellent surgeon, caring and funny man. Takes all the time you need. Explains everything and admits when he doesn't have an answer but sure will find one. I have known Dr Cartan since 1978 and he has helped me with many things including 2 knee replacemnts. Don't know what I will do without him when he retires. His secretary is also tops in my books. Easy office to visit and always there when you need them.

Dr. Cartan offers is truly the best kind of doctor there is. There aren't enough words to describe the impact he's head on my health and the magnitude to which I thank and respect him. Sprial fractured tibia, snapped fibula... weight bearing in 6 weeks. walking in 12. From the installation of the hardware to the final consult, this guy is a star.
