I became a patient of Dr. Bruno's office last year when I had to find a new PCP for pre-op testing after moving to NYC. He was recommended by my surgeon as they're both part of Northwell Health. It's only been a year and I am already looking for a new provider for numerous reasons.
1. I went into the office twice, once for pre-op testing and once for a regular checkup. I never actually saw Dr. Bruno, only his PA.
2. All of the staff at his office that I interacted with (excluding the PA) were horrible. The receptionist is rude and condescending both on the phone and in person. The lab tech has no bedside manner and is also rude. PA was kind and thorough during evals.
3. As an established patient, I needed a medication refilled. My pharmacy said they were having trouble getting the prescription refilled by Dr. Bruno's office. I called the office to see if I could help expedite the process, and they told me that since I hadn't been in since 2020, they wouldn't refill the prescription. (My last visit was in December 2020- only 10 months ago). When I asked the receptionist (who was purely unpleasant to speak to) how often I needed to come in to make sure my RXs could be filled, she said every 3-6 months. I've never been required to see a doctor that often for any reason, let alone a PCP for a checkup.
I read some bad reviews about his staff before originally going to Dr. Bruno's office, but because he came recommended, I ignored those. I wish I hadn't.
There are so many other doctors in the city with KIND and PLEASANT staff. I will NOT be returning to Dr. Bruno's office and you shouldn't either if you wanted to be treated kindly.

Dr Bruno has been my doctor for about 5 years. He is thorough and explains things fully, and he always explains different potential treatment options and the benefits and potential follow-up of each. His referrals to cardiac, gastrointestinal, neurological and allergy / immune specialists have been outstanding. I have found all his staff to be profession and accommodating. They also answer the phone and convey my messages accurately to Dr Bruno and his nurse. They have also kept my insurance billing current, accurate and clear. I was a patient of Dr Bruno for about 1-2 years prior to him becoming a concierge (" retainer") medical practice.

Lately all he looks at you as is dollar signs. Unfortunately Dr. Bruno does not genuinely care for the patient. Terrible front desk staff might I add.

I think Dr. Bruno is wonderful! He takes his time with one on one conversation His staff has been getting awful reviews, but I have never had a problem with them. Very friendly upon greeting and while you leave. If you give respect, you will get it back.

I have been going to Dr Bruno for several years, never had any health issues, just physicals, so i can't rate him on that. However I wonder why my BP is always 120/80 when he takes it and 135-140/95 in other MD offices! Also, he is now a "Concierge" doctor, so for $5000 /year you get to see him and be abused by rude receptionists! I need to find a new MD!!

Dr. Bruno is caring, brilliant and one of the best doctors in America. He has been through many sicknesses with me. I do not believe anyone could rate him or speak about him in words negatively without knowing him. As far as his staff is concerned, if you give respect, you get respect.
