Dr. Ranta listened carefully to my complaints and he was able to find a solution to problems that other doctors were not able to correct. He corrected the issue and did not keep me coming back for additional tests.

The staff was absolutely awful. I am part of a group insurance plan and had my insurance card information written down rather than the card itself. This is the only doctor's office I have ever been where they would not let me see the doctor because I didn't have the physical insurance card with me. I suggested that they call my insurance company to verify that I am covered. They became extremely aggressive and rude (especially the manager). Practically calling me an idiot for not bringing a physical card. When I was in my car leaving the office, I called my insurance company who proceeded to fax this doctor's office a statement of eligibility. My insurance company (accepted by the Dr. Ranta) expressed their surprise that Dr. Ranta's office hadn't chosen to call them to verify my insurance coverage. This office was a terrible experience and I would strongly advise staying away from it, unless you would like to subject yourself to rude behavior and unusual policies.

Went to Dr. Ranta for a 2nd opinion for a condition that was not improving under my original urologist. I was very anxious going in for this consultation. The consultation turned quickly into a session where he constantly berated me for the questions I asked (I went to him to get answers) and he was of no help to me whatsoever. I left his office in even a higher state of anxiety than when I entered it. I'll never ever go back to him and not forgive him for unpleasant experience.

what a pr i c k ! Dr. Ranta and associates, at Greenwich Urology associates, are liars intent on deceiving patients into unnecessary, potentially damaging, invasive tests. They will try to instill fear in you-that your minor symptoms may be due to a hidden, fatal cancer, to justify invasive exploratory procedures that can have seroius risks such as a penetration with dysfunction-E.D. They lie, knowing that a tiny amount of invisible blood in urine can be due to harmless (s)exercise, and minor trauma. They'll persuade you to do flow tests, even if you tell them you've got a strong stream-just tomake as much money off of you as possible. They'll want to insert a scope and be as invasive as possible, all the time, knowing that your history and syptoms don't suggest a cancer. And, they'll leave the non-invasive tests to spot cancerous cells to the end to make sure you go through the invasive tests. They're in Greenwich to take advantage of the money. Look elsewhere for honest MDs.
