arrived at hospital in severe pain . this doctor was rude, nasty and would not let me finish my own explanations.
I still have my colon thanks to this doctor. I found him to be very knowledgeable and caring.
He's taken very good care of me over the years with crohns and I've never had any concerns. I met him for the first time, years ago in hospital and although I don't have the need to see him more than every few years, he's always answered all of my questions well. He has a well run office and I think it's important for patients to realize that doctors have bad days. He sees many patients who are deathly ill and it must be emotionally draining at times (coming from someone who works for a doctor myself). It's unreasonable to expect any doctor to be perfect every moment of every day with the types of challenges that Dr. Papp must meet on a daily basis. Relationships are a two way street. You will get what you put into it.
I was in the hospital for 2 week when I saw him as I had issues with my stomach. Dr Papp had the nerve to tell me, after two weeks, that I should be discharged as it was back pain and I should walk it off. Luckily, my husband was with me and both of us insisted that we get a surgeon consultation an another ultrasound. Turned out a had a bowel obstruction that was about to burst!! Please please don't see him. If you HAVE to, please get a second opinion!!
Dr. Papp treated my mother who had Alzheimers six years ago for cancer. Before the first procedure was done to insert stents to reduce her jaundice he spent over 1/2 an hour on the phone with me to explain how and what he would be doing and after the procedure spent another 15 minutes with both me and my father to let us know how the procedure went and the next steps. A second procedure was done about 3 months later and we were then informed that mom was too fragile to be able to endure this procedure again and she gracefully passed away about 5 weeks later. He gave us this news with compassion and caring for her and the family and I truly appreciate and admire him for this. Thanks Dr. Papp.
This is one of the most arrogant, rude, prejudiced, ignorant men I have ever met. I had the misfortune to see him while in hospital; he was completely ignorant about my pre-existing health condition, CRPS,rated the most severe neurological pain condition by the McGill University pain scale. Despite sever pain I have managed my condition with pediatric doses and have been on the same very small dose for many years. I have never used recreational drugs of any kind and have been a tea-teetotaler all my life. Yet this man called me a drug addict, treated me and my family with utterly inexcusable hatred and contempt. He was unbelievably rude and condescending to the nurses and to a young female doctor who was on my case. He was also physically rough in his examinations, unpleasant in every way. Vic Gen will be better place when he retires. His ignorance is equaled only by his arrogance.
Because of this doctor, I can't be reffered to another GI doctor. I was given misinformation about my condition which I've had for years, and now I am sitting here with Crohn's unable to get any treatment or help at all. I am on pain medication for FAIS, and know that he treats people with this condition on medication with no respect. He's judgmental and arrogant. I can't get any help now because of him.
I have been seeing Dr. Papp for several years for GERD and Barrett's Esophagus. I have found him to be extremely competent and knowledgable. When performing procedures he is always sensitive to my needs and completes his task with minimal discomfort to me. His bed-side manner is impeccable. He is an intelligent man, and a caring, sentive Physician and as a bonus, he has a great sense of humor which I appreciate. I feel very fortunate to have him on my side. Bob Beland
This dr wouldnt even see me because of my age and because im on pain medications.Because of this i went un dx with crohn's for over 6 months wile i waited for another specialist to see me wile i waited i had many trips to the er due to severe diarrhea and stomach pain.STAY AWAY FROM this dr if you are on pain meds.
Dr Papp performed an upper GI endoscopy on me about five years ago and another just recently. With the earlier one I experienced a strong gagging reaction when the tube was first passed down my throat. This memory and some anxiety from it carried forward to my recent procedure. When I mentioned this to the nurses and Dr Papp they all agreed that I would receive a little extra throat spray and time to let it take effect. Dr Papp also asked if I wished to have sedation, which I did. A specialist who is sensitive to the concerns and emotions of his patients is worth his weight in gold. If I ever need to have another endoscopy or other treatment that he provides, I’ll cross my fingers that my case file gets assigned to Dr Papp.
