Replaced both of my knees over 4 years. Excellent surgeon, I felt 100 percent confident in his skill and care. My knees function well and he has given me my life back, pain-free. Thank you!
Just had l4 l5 fusion with bone graft, with Dr Jiang. This was a second surgery with him. Very happy with result. Only been 4 weeks since surgery, but I am feeling great, previous pain gone. Just dealing with surgery pain. Just saw him for follow up post op. and everything looks good. Dr. Jiang is a man of few words but when asked a question, he took the time to answer. Would not hesitate to go back to him again. Had surgery at Royal Alex. Hospital. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Very good experience all the way.
This so called dr. worked on my back twice through W.C.B. and now i'm screwed for life. When he removed my disc l5 s1, he never put the artificial disc in so it grew in scar tissue. Now both legs go numb etc. I can hardly walk, so from my experience I say run.
I had surgery a few years ago with Dr. Jiang. In retrospect I can't believe the little amount of time I spent with him before the surgery. It is very important to be thoroughly examined. Ask all questions that you have. My first surgery was successful with Dr. Jiang. I am now am having similar problems again. It has been very frustrating communicating with dr jiang and his staff. He also would also say one thing one appointment and something else the next appointment. It was very frustrating and difficult. Be sure to search for a back surgeon you trust and feel comfortable with. It is your spine! It is worth the wait to look around.
Dr Jiang, did an excellent job. He indicated I could expect a 95% perfect outcome. Well he did better than that 98-99%. All the hospital staff were great, but could offer fewer opiates. I was very dizzy and nauseated. I thank The Lord for guiding Dr Jiang's hand. Dave St Albert,AB
My experience with Dr. Jiang has been very positive. I had a badly bulged disc in my lumbar that caused constant significant pain in my back and leg. I tried everything (physio, etc, etc) but no joy. Massage therapy helped but was not enough. Dr. Jiang recently performed my surgery and I am now pain free (in fairness I am still recovering but pain free none the less). I sympathize with those who have had contradictory experiences, I wouldn't wish the injury I had on anyone and I really hope that you all find relief from your situation. I do have to say though that I would not hesitate to go back to Dr. Jiang. My result was excellent and at the end of the day that is what matters most to me. If I had anything negative to say it would be regarding wait times... but it is health care and like everyone else I don't want to pay higher taxes so waiting is not the end of the world to me (as long as it is not life threatening that is).
I was informed that he was the man to see for low back pain, my referal was in April of 2011 he does not actually see you, he has Dr. Garvin Cheung interview the paitent, he asked questions based on a form an a computer, then he consults with Jiang, in my opinion not being able to speak directly with the surgeon is a very poor way of doing things, Cheung asked questions, like this, based on a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate pain, when I tried to explain my situaton all Dr Cheung does is go back to reading his questions on the form & fills in the blanks. I suffer from low back pain every single of hour of every day, the epidurals i received did not help, the medication he prescribes barely makes the pain go away. I am convinced that this surgeon in not interested in doing surgery. He is only interested in prolonging the patients suffering. When you are refered to Dr Jiang, ask for a different surgeon. This was a truely was a negative experience. DO NOT ACCEPT A REFERAL FOR DR JAING.
tried to get a hold of his office twenty times with no success, left twenty voice mails and no call back. extremely poor.
On Dr.Jiang's word alone w.c.b. kicked me to the curb with a broken back.Though an MRI showed I maybe needed an operation,Dr.Jiang said everything was fine and as far as the pain goes,I should see a shrink I can't work,I walk with a cane and in severe pain.
I recommend you search high and low for surgeons and never just settle with this one. Not true to his word, doesn't know his patients at all. My experience has recently led to me to find a new surgeon as I do not want this man doing spinal surgeries on me when they can't keep track of my records. He argued with me...and when issues occur...they turn around and try to place the blame on you. So much miscommunication between him and receptionist. Please if in regards to the spine....look high and low for another one. You need to FEEL comfortable in a surgeons abilities cause the spine is nothing to joke about! I don't recommned this dr. Not at all. In fact...RUN...
