Andre likes to make smiling arbitrary positive assertions like "you didn't eat". He seems to regard mental illness much like a fire that needs to be stamped out, without investigating its cause. He fails to give any feed back at all, such as advice or self-help books, he fails to give valid definitions, and when pressed he babbles conservatively and doesn't attempt to translate into English. His idea of therapy is saying how great sports is, I assume sports is universalizable with all his male patients to "(i like to)get away from it all". He struggles and gives up complacently and skeptically when I mention a simple piece of art that a child could grasp, and he explains that he's just not a fan of art on his good days. He scowls with displeasure with any literature of logical empirical facts that assert that there are major blunders in modern history, and occasionally objects that it's Good to appeal to what the masses appeal to, particularly religion is O.k with him in this respect.

Dr DeRocquigny is an excellent doctor. He is very calm, compassionate, friendly, patient, respectful, professional and reassuring. His unit at the Vic is the very best and his staff are fantastic. I highly recommend for the best care and treatment.

I was treated by Dr. DeRocquigny while in the hospital (The Vic) and I found him kind and reassuring. As I progressed, bit by bit, he helped me set some goals to work on. When I was discharged, I was lucky to get into the in/outpatient group therapy. That helped the transition. Happily he has continued to see me (he is so busy) and I continue to get better under his care. Yes there are ups and downs; but that is part of life, no? I would recommend him to a patient seeking kind talk treatment and intensive drug related treatment. I owe him much and he keeps saying I am doing the work. :-)

He spends far too little time with his patients. While I don't sense any judgement from him, I don't sense any compassion either. I don't understand all of these reviews, because he's not particularly interested in me at all. I always feel rushed with him, like he really doesn't have the time to deal with me.

This doctor is one of the best I have ever been to concerned, polite, interested in you as a person not just a patient. Wants to be sure you are alright with your medications as well as taking them, been suffering with my malady for years and finally feel like I have someone who understands my concerns ,I know he has saved my life on a couple of occasions when it felt to hopeless to continue on.would recommend him to anyone with issues of thier own.

I have had the doctor for over 30 years and still here. I know he will be there for me in an emergency as he has in the past.
