Not a huge fan of Dr Evaschesen. Our first consult was by phone and he was clearly busy doing other things while speaking with me and I didn't feel I had his full attention. I assume he was recording the call though. At the time of my colonoscopy, he was busy performing other procedures back to back, so be prepared to have no contact with him before your procedure until you're in the room and even then, he's not interested in chit chat he just wants you in and out. After the procedure, he did pop in at my request and arrogantly indicated he doesn't like to be called on afterwards (I get it, its like a non-stop assembly line in there). He didn't answer any of my questions because frankly, I don't think he knew the answers. He may be good at his procedures, but thats about all he's good at. I'd request another Dr if you have to go to Lions Gate for gasto-type care. However, HUGE kudos to the caring nurses and especially the wonderful anesthesiologist who made the whole procedure feel like it never happened.
He performed my Gastroscopy. I had not met him before, but he answered my questions, asked me questions, and showed me kindness. His staff were friendly and helpful. My appointment was one hour late, but I don't think I have ever had a procedure in a hospital that was on time! Haha.
Terrible experience, did not investigate or even look at my abdomen. Asked no questions and insisted my issue is gas and that I should change eating habits. Unkind and unhelpful.
He answered all of my questions. Had my Colonoscopy a few weeks after.
No issues. Got my appointment. Called to confirm. Got a reminder. Doctor called. Answered all the questions i had prepared. He was patient when i asked him to repeat some of things he was talking about. Prescription faxed and a follow-up booked.
I had colonoscopy in lions gate hospital. I felt pain during the procedure. After the procedure and before I leave the hospital, the doctor didn’t come to see me none of the nurses told me what they saw and did or if I need to follow up! Colonoscopy procedure was delayed 2 hours. I did the same procedure 5 years ago, didn’t feel any pain and after the procedure, the doctor told me I had one polyp which was detached, retrieved, and sent for biopsy but doesn’t look anything to be concerned.
Endoscopy procedure was delayed 8 hours. Spent my time in a holding area waiting for the doctor to show up. When he finally arrived he told me they were out of sedatives so he was going to perform the procedure without, but assured me it was OK because this is norm in other countries. The experience was awful. This doctor has terrible social skills. Glad that he has moved on.
Not helpful at all. Wanted to prescribe me a 1k/month medicine without knowing or trying to investigate what I have. Hang up the call while I still had questions. Doesn’t understand or try to understand my conditions. Ignored my symptoms and history. Not empathetic or respectful with his patients and their conditions. A disservice to the community.
I had a gastroscopy with this doctor at a small regional hospital. All was brisk and efficient but I could sense he was a kindly man. I felt safe for sure. The briskness was probably because my appointment was a whopping 1.5 hours late, though that may not have been the doctor's fault I dk. I did not care about the briskness because I do not care to talk about my health and have no interest in having cosy chats with doctors. I just wanted to get in, get it done, and get out. This was achieved as he was fast, it only took about 5minutes. He gave a running commentary on what was happening throughout. There was zero time to ask questions before or after but I had prepared myself well so was not bothered by that and again, that may have been because they were running incredibly late. This doctor's efficiency suited me but people who like more of a bedside manner might not appreciate it. My pre-procedure interaction with his assistant (?) beforehand, to make the appointment, be given instructions etc, was by email and was timely and courteous. His nursing staff during the procedure were very kind. I was very uncomfortable to be able to hear their verbal interaction with the next patient, in the next door cubicle; I have no desire to hear the intimate details of another person's medical history, but this I suspect was the fault of the facility, not the staff.
He is a very patient and careful doctor who is good at communication. He gives people a sense of security!
