I've been seeing Dr. Dipaolo for about five years and I've never been happy. The staff is rude and very unhelpful. I always have to wait forever to be seen and when I do see Dr. Dipaolo she talks really fast and is super short with me. When I have questions, she talks over me and doesn't answer. However, she is quick to offer her opinions even when I do not ask for them. When I was 28 and unmarried, she told me the clock was ticking and I needed to get a move on if I ever wanted to have children. I cried. I am now engaged and the idea of seeing Dr. Dipaolo when I do have kids makes me feel like I am going to have an anxiety attack.

I wish I had seen these reviews before going to Dr. Dipaolo! The rude staff lost my appointment (never wrote it down??) so when I called them to confirm the day before, they told me they would try to "squeeze me in." Dr. Dipaolo was unwilling to answer most of my questions about minor health issues, giving me a hard time because I don't have a primary care physician (I have NEVER had one and my insurance doesn't require it--why not just go to specialists?). I have never had such a painful vaginal exam and pap smear. I told her that it was painful and she said, "well, it shouldn't be painful." Um... EXACTLY. I will NOT return to this doctor, especially if I get pregnant.

As mentioned in some of the previous reports, this office will resort to anything to convince you you need to have an induction or a C-section, clearly for their own convenience. I did have an induction at 38W3D with my son after they told me he was "HUGE." He was 7 pounds 4 ounces. Thankfully the induction took, but even during the induction, Dr. Filipescu (her father - they share a practice) kept insinuating that I would never progress and that we were almost certainly headed for C-section. Finally, when I was ready to give birth, my son was literally crowning when they went to get Dr. F. He was in the middle of a C-section, so I had to lie there for 20 minutes and wait with my son literally ready to be born. I left the hospital with a healthy baby, and that's all that matters, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this practice.

I agree with the negative reports. I saw Dr. DiPaola for a couple years before my first son was born; she was mediocre, but I put up with it just for annual exams. Then I got pregnant and Dr. DiPaola and Dr. Filipescu turned horrible. I agree that Filipescu is old school and has no respect for women. The first question he asked when I went to confirm my pregnancy was whether I wanted an abortion. He told me I had to get rid of my cat because they are dirty and will harm my baby. Dr. DiPaola incorrectly advised me that I could take no medication during my pregnancy for any ailment. She mocked me when I questioned her, and told me that if I traveled outside the area (which was required for my job), I would be putting my baby at risk. I overheard Filepescu discuss a malpractice lawsuit over the phone while I sat in his office...After two appointments I left crying and went to another practice that gave me correct advice. Needless to say, I still have my cat and two beautiful boys.

The worst doctor I have ever been too. She did a bladder surgery for me, and even before I left the hospital I told her that that something didn't seem right. On the way home, I was crying in pain and when my husband called her, her office never called back. I went back to the office a day later, in unbelievable pain, sure I had a urinary tract infection. After 8 MORE DAYS of not hearing from her office, I went back in and she said I did have an (raging) infection and that they didn't call me because it took over a week to get the report. Any women who has ever had a UTI knows that is a complete lie. Plus, they NEVER called -- I ended up calling them! I will never forget the 10 days of incredible pain that could have been avoided with standard and prompt standard of care. Ladies, stay away!!!

STAY AWAY! She performed an emergency c section on me. Left placental material in me. I bled for 10 weeks and was told it was normal and my feeling sick was normal. I had a horrible infection. This led to adhesions. When I complained of pain I was told I was having post pardum. Her father did the laparascopic on me and asked husband, "WHO DID HER C SECTION?!?" ^ years later, and a complete hysterectomy later, I wish I had NEVER stepped foot in that office. They ****ed me and scarred me so horribly a hysterectomy after one child was my only choice! My new doc told me had I gotten pregnant again, it would never have lasted due to the severe scarring from the untreated infection which she refused to treat. They also delivered my nephew. He was left in the birth canal crowning for 20 minutes while doc was not able to be found.

I went to Dr. DiPaola because my mother had gone to her, previously. I used her services for years and finally just left. I waited an average of 1-2 hours with no reasoning or apologies. She would answer questions very quickly and shortly, as if she didn't have time for me after waiting all this time! All around the office are also signs explaining additional fees that they will charge you. Without saying, I switched doctors.

Both Dr. DiPaolo and Dr. Filipescu used scare tactics to try and get me to schedule a c-section. They ended up getting their way when they decided my son was "measurning too big" even without a second sonogram, and told me I needed to be induced. My son wasn't ready to come out; but I ended up with a c-section. My son was 7lbs.5oz....there was no reason I couldn't wait another week and a half. We are planning to start trying for our second child, and I am looking for a new doctor now.

I've finally made the decision to switch practices at 24 weeks, because I just don't feel like I'm getting good answers. My appointments are very rushed and I feel like I'm making many of my decisions in the dark without much discussion as to the pro's and con's (the answer is always that there's a risk to everything and no one knows to what extent you can or can't do anything). A big part of my concern is that she shares the practice with Dr. Fillapescu, who is very gruff. He did a cerclage for me, which I'm not entirely sure I needed. I felt much of the surgery and afterward, he was reluctant to give me pain medication despite the nurses saying most doctors wouldn't have a problem with it.

I left this office mid-pregnancy and it was the smartest thing I ever did. This was in 2002;it looks like nothing has changed. The entire staff, from receptionist to doctors are amateurs, rude and incompetent. Dr. DiPaolo was nice but I ALWAYS felt she was rushing through my exam. Her father, Dr. Filipescu is an old school doctor who seemed to have no respect for women or pregnant mothers. I had a miscarriage a couple of years before my second pregancy and Dr. Filipescu, her father, did the DNC. He came in, did not introduce himself, did not even smile, did not explain anything and left as soon as he was done without a word. I should have left the office then. During my second pregnancy, Dr. DiPaolo never saw me, only her father. After months of being told outright I was 'fat' I decided I had enough. The experience was the worst I've ever had. Also, the billing office kept taking my copay after the 1st visit and only returned the overpaid amount after I called them about it.
