I had surgery, everyone was nice in the pre-op room. Molly the Anesthesiology Nurse was AMAZING as she held my hand on the way to surgery and as I got so scared as the drugs went into me, she leaned her head to my ear and whispered that everything was going to be ok. She was a great comfort to me. After surgery, as I was coming to, I kept yelling for Molly because I needed her reassurance and she came right to me. They kept my pain comfortable and that was the end of any sort of proper care. After I got to my room, I was only allowed Tylenol. I had just had major abdominal surgery (my insides were rearranged) and was only allowed Tylenol. This hospital is very conservative when it comes to pain management. I was also with a catheter if I didn't urinate exactly 200ccs by the hour. I yelled, I cried, I freaked out. How could you make me go through something horrible because I wasn't going to meet your quota. But because I was urinating even just a little, it was decided I wouldn't need a catheter. I was in constant pain. In constant worry I wouldn't get my regular medications. I walked and walked and walked, as instructed. I was sent home with directions to take tylenol as needed. I spent the next few weeks in excruciating pain to the point that I am now traumatized and regretting the decision to ever have had the surgery. Besides Molly and the one day nurse I had, the care I was given was sub par. At least I became friends with my roommate!

Check out my website and see for yourself. I have been told by 2 doctors here in Kentucky that St. Joseph's in Syracuse is one of the worst hospitals in the north east. The hospital almost killed me and has destroyed my life forever. http://ny.hdmediacom.com/medical/

I've had four outpatient surgeries at St. Joseph's Surgery Center in Fayetteville. Each time, I was impressed with the professionalism and skill of all staff I encountered, from the receptionist to the surgeon. The entire process, from admission to discharge, was well executed and thoroughly explained each step of the way. My comfort and understanding were always priorities for the staff. I felt valued and respected. My surgical outcomes were positive. I highly recommend St. Joseph's Healthcare System.
