Beware of this place- Brief Synopsis: My wife had a horrible sharp pain within her uterus, urethra, and streamlined to her cervical area which lead me and my wife to go to Sherman Hospital Emergency Department. After taking a long time with blood and urine test about 1.5-2 hours Kari said in other words we can't help you? I asked how can you let my wife be discharged when she is still in pain and you haven't even found a reason for the pain? I just got frustrated because they weren't willing to take the time to do more test such as an ultra sound or CT scan or ect. I thought that people who are in this field would go above and beyond to help others in need. I later found out after asking Kari if she was the ER doctor that she was just a Physician Assistant. I requested the ER doctor to be present in the room so he can understand how much pain my wife is in and to see if he would take the time to minimize her pain and help. The ER Doctor Patel didn't even see my wife to diagnose her or any type of assurance of help? Dr. Patel didn't minimize my wife's pain or even provide any type of diagnosis. This leads me to a conclusion that Dr. Patel wasn't able to provide great healthcare assistance. We didn't see the doctor at all? I asked why not do a ultra sound because my wife is in horrible pain and in tears to find the root cause of the pain? Kari (PA)responds with it will take 3-4 hours?I know it doesn't take 3-4 hours to get an ultra sound. What if this was your loved one that you saw in so much pain, would you just discharge them after 2 test and seeing them still in pain? My wife was so frustrated with the lack of care and help that she just gave up . Kari then said the doctor will see us but by that time my wife was already in tears and exhausted that she just wanted to leave because it seemed they really didn't care. I wouldn't recommend this hospital after our experience. Beware. My wife is still in pain with no help from Sherman ER hospital. My wife later talked to me and believed the PA Kari didn't know what she was talking about with a UTI. The Hippocratic Oath is one of the oldest binding documents in history. Excellent hospital. But now it is called Advocate Sherman Hospital as of 2014. Advocate and Sherman joined. Clean, orderly, all nurses, doctors, entire staff, are most helpful and concerned about you as an individual person. This new Sherman is far better than the older Sherman, much modernized with excellent new techniques and equipment. Would highly recommend.
