I went to Advent in Tarpon Springs last July.I went because I was bleeding and they told me I had a UTI and gave me antibiotics.A week later I went back because the bleeding was much worse.They said again it was a UTI and gave me a catheter.Never did any scans or other tests.That same night I went to a different hospital and immediately they did a scan and found that I had cancer on my kidney.I was speechless.If I hadn’t gotten to the other hospital I could have died.I had stage 3 cancer.3 days later I had surgery and had to have my kidney removed.But Advent without doing any testing to see what was actually wrong just assumed it was a simple UTI.Their mistake could’ve cost me my life.I will never recommend them to anyone.

Worst ER experience ever. Dr. Smith refused to run any tests for chest pain including an EKG, refused to take a urine sample for STD testing, refused to do blood work to discover any underlying issues, and blamed it all on mental health/psychological stress. Even more shocking was him continuously bringing up how much the tests cost (and telling me to go to a free clinic instead!) as well as SMIRKING repetitively throughout shutting down my claims. He did not stop smirking when I repeatedly asked him to, and simply responded he can't help his face. "What if I told you there's something about your face I don't like? It's not fair." It's insane to me that a person can go somewhere for help to address extreme chest pain, and prior to running ANY test, a "Dr." can come to a conclusion of any kind. I waited an hour and a half only to be mocked and blown off because I have mental health diagnosis (or was it race driven? Insurance/economic? Only Dr. Smith knows). Even if something IS stress induced, that does not mean that there can be no physical issue to treat. Especially when a person is telling you that they are in physical pain. I have POPPING on my chest! In the 10 minutes I was seen by Dr. Smith, he somehow found multiple opportunities to bring up his degree (3 or more). "I went to school to be able to tell you this." "The nurse who told you she would ask for an EKG doesn't have the schooling I do." Really?? He was hostile, condescending, and disrespectful, when I simply wanted some sort of test ran & answers re: hair loss, pain in my side, tension, and heart pain. He told me other hospitals who previously ran tests "just wanted to make me feel better" and discharged me with his only advice being, to see a psychiatrist. He even went as far as to call this "his" hospital. If this is HIS hospital, and he refuses any sort of basic testing to every patient, along with basic compassion and respect, I STRONGLY advise anyone seeking CARE: go ANYWHERE else but Advent. Despite their signs on the building, this is NOT a safe place. I have to live with this pain, and even though I missed work today to attempt to figure it out, because of Dr. Smith, I am in an even worse state than when I came in. I PRAY NO ONE EVER RECEIVES THIS DISGUSTING TREATMENT from him again. Go back to school & take a few more classes on compassion, discrimination, bare minimum testing ... Because you need it. Edit: The gentleman who took my complaint was very respectful and empathetic. Thank you. I will update this review when I receive feedback re: my complaint. He did seem shocked no testing whatsoever was done, as well, and informed this goes against protocol.

It’s a Joke going there. Their 360 program is a joke too. Not only didn’t they help me or do anything their 360 program person Justine called me once. I called 3 days after and no one called me back. I already called MEDICARE. They are not getting paid for my ER visit. All talk with them, no action. I’m literally dying with Lymes disease.

My father was just administered his last rights. He has been in here for 7 days. I was just escorted out by the Tampa police because I got "too loud" which I did…. when being told by 2 - what looked like 18 year old "security guards" only 2 people per room for"Covid" patience. But keep in mind this is NOT A COVID FLOOR! Third floor room 324. Check for yourself. Also, for the last 5 days we have had anywhere between 2 and 6 people in the room with him 24/7…never an issue…until his dying breathe! Now Covid is a problem. Only 2 at a time. I was also told by the Administrator Supervisor that my father told "someone " that he was stressed and too many people were in the room. That is a complete lie by your "Administrator Supervisor" He can't speak and has a pap mask on that restricts his speech to help him breathe. Then your "Administrator Supervisor " stated that only "2 people are checked into the room but there are 6 of vou here" and I asked, very loudly with now 7 Tampa cops and 2 12 year old security guards… "we all have badges from this morning.. dated 1/29. How is that checking in"…and I CALLED HER A BLATANT LIAR…BECAUSE SHE WAS…then you "Administrator Supervisor " proceeded to call me "an asshole" you can verify with 7 Tampa cops, 2 14 year old security quards. I am being told that I can not be there for my fathers final breathe……and this "Administration Supervisor" is calling me an ASSHOLE! Some real quality care at this place. I worked in the media fir a very large media company and have had my share of "assholes" to deal with.. …and I have never in 30 years been treated so disrespectful. I, without a question git loud…..no question about it...but instead of sending to 14 year old security guards…who I really went off when the taller kid put his hands on me…..let the 3 of us…yes 3 not 6…say goodbye to our dying father? And as far as the Covid BS….it's over 7 days now so why all of a sudden is it an issue when for a week there was no issue? Frank Barbaro

I am so happy to have quality health care close to home. Everyone in the hospital treats you with kindness and compassion.

Could not take shower missing tiles black mold in shower .Missing tiles laying on floor of shower .Filthy rooms .Day shift was fine night shift did not practice hygiene measures. No hand washing, no sanitizing no gloves .They came for blood at 4 a.m. no gloves no washing hands I said no I was told by tech that if she wanted to she could have me restrained to take blood .We we're having a conversation? Restrain ? unprofessional rude and dirty

Close to my condo. Very happy. It was very clean and friendly.

Short staffed. Too many Doctors and not enough staff--mainly 6th floor. Surgery out patient -excellent. ER-poor. 2 days later 6th fl and the worst hospital experience.

This facility is very clean. It's modern design is easy to follow. It has the latest equipment and well trained staff. My eye sight is very important to me and I knew I was with the best the minute I walked in the building. I congratulate your choice in doctors, nurses, technicians. Also, they all seemed HAPPY to be a part of this wonderful Florida Hospital.
