The worst hospital ever. Went back after a stent was placed and chest pain came back. Was admitted to observation again. Terrible rooms and service there. The nurses are really bad. The Hospitalist is a Joke. They lie on there report's and could care less about you. I see a heart doctor through baycare and one of his associates came in a real joke sense you can't put bad things on this review. bound and determined nothing wrong. Making decisions that made no sense. They will put Strait out lies in your chart. This was the second time I went there. Never Again. I will be changing Baycare as my insurance. Do not go to this Hospital Ever.

To anyone out there that ever considers using Mease Countryside Hospital PLEASE do your homework first. I was admitted to Mease Countryside on 24 hour observation for pain control and MRI study of lumbar spine(or so I thought). The 24 hour observation turned into a 4 day admission that was not only full of torture and rudeness by most (not all) of the staff, but also a chart full fabricated statements, omissions, and flat out lies, The longer the admission, the more tormenting the treatment became. Doctors were coming in with pre determined judgments and making very unprofessional and rude comments to me. They sent 2 spine doctors in, Dr Derrick Dupree was the first doctor, walked around and looked at my back, and still did nothing, didn’t do the CT that was recommended by the radiologist the see the extent of what was on the MRI. The only thing he did was order a psychiatric evaluation (because I was “visibly distressed”) which was completely irrelevant to admission complaints. Later when he came back, I tried to hand him my previous MRI and he would not even take it to read the report inside, much less look at the images. He also said in his clinical report the I told him that I had been through all physical therapy, injections, all the conservative treatment you have to do first and the surgery was supposed to have already been performed by a “Dr Molino”, ( never heard of this doctor) and that I was unable to provide him with the name of the surgery that was being preformed. He then lied in his clinical not stating that I “claimed” to have had and extensive workup done prior to coming to the ER, but that I was “unable” to produce any evidence. Clearly I attempted to provide supporting evidence as I attempted to hand him the disk and also have a screenshot on my phone of the correct doctors name and procedure that was supposed to be performed. Admission orders were not followed. Medication mistakes were made. To which I pointed out, but was assured I was given the correct medication. This happened 2 times. My plan of treatment was skewed and not properly put together due to the omissions and lies in my records causing confusion between doctors. So when the on call surgeon Dr. Andrew Moulton come in later in the evening while doing rounds. I had already fallen asleep and was facing the couch in the room. He introduced himself sat down on the couch and then asked me where I was hurting I then began to try to roll over, which I should not have had to do, and he look at me again and in a louder tone of voice said very slowly as is I was dumb, “where are you hurting, you ears , your nose?” I said “no, by back and I am trying to roll over to show you. He then looks at me and say “the only reason I am here is because you insist you be seen by another back surgeon tonight, but I have lives to save and people to keep from being paralyzed.” He also refuses to look at my scans. He later put in my report that I rolled over with ease and denied any loss of sensation or strength in my right leg. Again all lies. I asked everyday from Sunday on to speak with a patient Representative, on the last day, the charge nurse for the unit came in and spoke with me regarding the Situation and said she would be sending it up the chain to the board. I have heard nothing back from them. My back condition was overlooked during my admission because they all going off inaccurate information as well as I believe that instead of putting me in for my back and running test and actually treating or forming a treatment plan, I think that I was discriminated against and they saw me as a crazy person coming in trying to seek drugs, so instead of focusing on the problem, they focused all there attention to my mental state instead of trying to find the problem. This hospital stay caused me both mental and physical anguish that I should not had had to endure. I did not feel like a patient, I felt like a number, I felt like all I was looked at as just another person coming in wanting drugs. Thankfully. I was able to see another surgeon 2 days after I left, who felt that there was an urgent need to revise my fusions as the previous fusions failed and he will be doing that on the 15th. He has also been super thorough and caught something before if became an even bigger issue in the operating room. This will be a long recovery process. I will be out of work for around 2 month in total from the time I was admitted into the hospital to I end up getting cleared after surgery. I got this though. Good thing is, I know from now on what hospital to not go to if I ever have another emergency!!!

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in an ER! I understand they are trying to enhance efficiency by having a MA/ nursing student in charge of taking regular vitals outside in the waiting room and by having a provider blindly ordering tests based on the chief complaint before the patient ever sees the PA/APRN/ MD/DO, but this simply does not work! The triage nurse did not review my medical history, meds, allergies, etc. Honestly, the triage nurse didn’t even do a good job taking my chief complaint. However, this complicates things since they are basing medical decisions blindly on chief complaints. Everyone kept passing the baton onto someone else. “oh someone else will review your histories and examine you” was the comment repeated to me over and over again. But in the end, noone did those things which is the minimum one can do. The PA did not review my medical history, medications, allergies, etc. to make medical decisions. The PA did not even examine me. I had to try to force him to look and explain why I was concerned. It was much better when the nursing staff did intake on the patients in the ER room, took vitals, and the APRN/ PA staff examined the patient and spoke to the patient prior to ordering labs and imaging. The nursing staff may like this system since they now only touch the patient to discharge them, but that is not good care. The staff sent info about the visit to the wrong PCP since noone reviewed that either. As a fellow physician, I can tell you that the labs ordered were not the correct standard of care for both main diagnoses they needed to rule out or in. They only ruled out one diagnosis, sepsis, which I knew I did not have. There was no empathy or compassion from any medical provider or staff there. The staff seems miserable and just intent on doing the minimal possible. I expect to at a minimum receive the standard of care. I did not receive the standard of care. I expected much more from Baycare. I feel as though all the respect I had for Baycare as an institution is now lost. As a medical doctor myself, I am disgusted with the care I received. I will not be sending patients to Baycare ER anymore.

Just had spinal fusion and stayed 3 days. The nurses and staff at this hospital were exceptional. Very helpful in all stages.

I heard 2 poeple making grossly illegal HIPAA violations. One was a lady in a maroon scrub. The door was open and she was looking at the computer pointing at it and reading what she called .. her daughters illness. SOme kind of immune issue to another person in maroon scrubs. WOW! Also this lady in blue scrubs yelled hey do you remmeber Jerry? to another lady. Yah he worked here in the ER was the answer. The first lady said come here and look at his exrays hes in bad shape. The second lady then yelled to someone else. Hey do you etc.... WOW!I will not go back there, God knows what they are saying about me! The value was good, the serivce was good, the facility is clean etc... but this is where I rated the HIPAA stufff. but boy oh boy....

Emergency Room needs to hire medical professional who CARE about treating those that come to the ER for immediate help, not those who work there for a paycheck. CNN Felicia and Dr. John White could care"less"!
