I was admitted here the third time I presented myself at ED, first two times I was sent home with Panadene Forte. Third time they realised something really was wrong and admitted me.. while the ED process was terrible for me I understand much of this was due to being understaffed. The worst part was the waiting room, I was unable to sit and standing was excruciating however that’s what I had to do.... nearly passed out before they took me in. On the ward.... I cannot fault them. The nurses where fantastic, caring and thorough. They listened to me which was important after so many had not. The doctors wher great, explaining everything in ways I could understand, listened to my concerns and addressed them. The food was really good. I’m a vegetarian so was expecting the usual plate full of zucchini and capsicum but honestly It was so much better... choices and taste where awesome. My one week stay there was great and helped with my pain management considerably.
My specialist operates in most hospitals in Perth and if there is a further surgery required I will definitely book into one of those as I only chose Joondalup because it was close to home. I couldn't fault the staff. They were excellent. BUT totally understaffed. I wasn't dying but it wouldn't have mattered if I was. The time it took for any staff to answer my bell call was sometimes more than15 minutes. One woman opposite me cried over for over 30 minutes before she was very rudely answered. The food was average, however the meal I received on Sunday night was disgusting and I couldn't eat it My worst complaint is the way the nurses handed over right outside my room with much hilarity and noise at least on one occasion, the other times just plain noisy. It's sad that with such a positive website and advertising that for me Joondalup Private just doesn't rate as high as other private hospitals in Perth.
i have never been at a worse hospital in my life, everyone i have ever spoken to re: joondalup hosp has a horror story of their own.. why r we all putting up with our tax being misused in the worse way. media needs to step in and expose the treatment of most vulnerable in one of the richest countrys. the doctors there all need re- training and half the nurses...what is happening to perth,,,used to be place of good people,
