Please never let Dr.Simer Bal retire!!! He's truly the best neurologist and I am so glad to be under his care.

As a parent, I’m incredibly grateful for Dr. Bal and the care he has provided. He has been my daughter’s neurologist for the past two years, during that included repeated hospitalizations and serious neurological events. There were moments when I felt completely helpless as a parent and was genuinely afraid of losing her. he followed my daughter through some of the hardest moments we’ve faced and was consistently there for her. You can tell he truly cares. During a critical care hospitalization, he continued to visit when he could and took the time to speak with us, even though he wasn’t required to. He helped us understand what we were seeing week by week, helped us face difficult realities and also gave us the strength to keep going. Even though my daughter is an adult having him as a neurologist who understands the importance of family involvement in serious, long-term care has made a real difference. I’m grateful that my daughter knows she can talk to him openly and trust his guidance when she needs direction. My daughter is doing much better now and continues her follow-up care with him and I truly couldn’t ask for a better neurologist for her to be on her side as she navigates through medical issues. in the hospital, I also heard similar experiences from other patients and families and they shared the same appreciation. That says a lot. thank yo dr.Bal for everything you have done for us as a family!!

Dr. Bal is a caring, compassionate doctor. As a person, I quite like him; however, I am very frustrated with his unwillingness to provide information regarding my husband's degenerative brain disease. It is very difficult to prepare for what comes next when he keeps sidestepping questions about prognosis and expectations about what comes next. This lack of information is more stressful than being told what to expect.

My husband had a heart attack, then a stroke this september. Dr. Bal is an exceptional doctor but what really stood out was his compassion and care! We were in the hospital for three months and it didn't matter where in the hospital I would pass Dr. Bal, he would stop to ask how we were doing and answer any questions I had. He took the time, didn't talk down to me, and gave me reassurance along with updates. I would see him with a group of doctors across the hallway and he would stop and come over to check with me. I mentioned how impressed I was, and how much it meant to me. His response was something like, I know how I would want to be treated if it was my family member in here. I wish that he could teach every doctor his compassion, along with his knowledge. I have dealt with many doctor with myself & work, NO ONE had ever come close to impressing me as much as Dr. Bal. Thank You Dr. Bal from the bottom of my heart, not only are you a great doctor, but a exceptional human being!

One of the best doctors I’ve seen along with great staff at Foothills hospital. he was very patient, very thorough with his questions and most importantly listened very carefully and respectfully. very fortunate to be under his care after experiencing a TIA and feel more at ease and overall in control of my health. Staff is equally caring even the receptionist made us feel so comfortable for our appointment.

Dr. Bal and his team cared for my dad during his stroke admission. While my dad may have now lost the ability to speak or understand, he was always treated with dignity, patience, and compassion. Dr. Bal never rushed our questions- he made space for our worries, listened first and then explained, making sure we felt involved in every decision for my dad’s care. His team showed the same kindness, supporting not only my dad but also our family through long, difficult days by providing us with the strength and hope we needed most.
