Ratings for Dr. Sherief Ahmed
3.4
Dr Ahmed is a decent family doctor though he is almost always late, I attribute this to the extra time necessary spent once he finally gets to each patient. His front desk staff however are rude both in person and on the phone. As a business person I don't understand why they are not re-trained or fired.
Dr Ahmed has always been available when I had serious issues. I do not mind waiting when I have less serious problems. His staff have always responded when I needed help he is there when I need him
My whole family has been with Dr. Ahmed for years. The wait times are definitely an issues but I've never felt rushed discussing concerns and he has taken all concerns seriously, which I appreciate.
Very rude front staff Overbooking appotments which result in hours wait time after your scheduled time. Lost my sons urine tests, they let bloodtest sit for weeks before being reviewed. This office cares about your healthcard swipe and not your health
Front staff are unhelpful, out and out rude and sarcastic. Rolls their eyes if you ask for help or consideration even to make an appt. Dr. Ahmed is friendly and appears to be listening however, ultimately he picks and chooses what symptoms he wants to address. Their greatest assets are the Nurse and the Nurse Practitioner
Wait times have sometimes been long but this is otherwise an excellent practice and Dr. Ahmed is thorough, informed, helpful and professional. No complaints.
Dr. Ahmed is knowledgable, however his ego often gets in the way of actual patient care. Most notably is the front desk staff who are horrible and rude. They are the face of the clinic and should take pride in making people feel comfortable. Time and time again the front receptionist makes snide comments or out right refuses to help.
My family left Dr Ahmed's practice last year, reasons being: have to wait a month to get in to see him, over an hour late for your appointment when you finally get to have your appointment, staff seems out to lunch, makes off side comments to patients about their weight.
Perpetually an hour or more late for appointments. Ego gets in the way of patient care. Bedside manner can be good some days and other days, he makes comments that are completely offside considering the situation.
I left Dr. Ahmed's practice 6 years ago. He told me there was a 'high chance' (his words) my unborn baby would have a birth defect after receiving elevated results from a prenatal blood test. I then went through being seen by a genetics counsellor at Credit Valley, only to be advised by the genetics counsellor that this test was only slightly elevated (2%), which meant it was likely a false positive screening. I felt Dr. Ahmed had poor bedside manner when delivering this news. I was clearly shocked and upset by this news, but I was never given any reassurance by him and I was never told that this prenatal screen could have false positive results. I went home devastated after my appointment with him and I never went back once I was given the reassurance I needed with the genetics counsellor.
