Dr. Viola is a top surgeon in his field, and his reputation precedes him. If you need an orthopedic surgeon, your best chance at normalcy is Dr. Viola. He fixed my 60-yr-old husband's wrist at a time when we were told by many that the best that could be done is to fuse it and have limited lifetime mobility. Now he plays golf. An even more impressive story is that he repaired my teenage daughter's broken hand, and she ended up with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (a very painful neurological disease that can be biologically triggered by surgery). Dr. Viola pretty much felt her pain and worked tirelessly for months with other specialists, when he could have easily passed us off because his work as a surgeon was done. He is not territorial, he will work with any other doctors, he just wants the best for his patients. When I would pursue specialists/experts and nothing worked, despite their very best efforts, I would come back to him and he would see my daughter and think harder/go outside the box/keep trying. He felt my pain as a parent and deeply cared about my daughter. It bothered him deeply to see her suffer. He, along with Dr. Evans (pain mgt specialist - another phenomenal, caring doctor) was ultimately the one who came up with something that got us to zero pain, zero swelling, even though he does not claim to be a CRPS expert. He's a beautiful man and I cannot say enough great things about him.

It was a great experience. I felt in great hands, being that it was my hands he was looking at! He explained everything to me, and I know what to do if it arises again.

Dr Viola changed my life!! I had severely deformed fingers from osteoarthritis, pain level up to an 8. It became a great disability. After having joint replacement surgery in 8 pip joints, 8 fusions and 3 reconstructions in my thumbs I have a pain level of 0! and great functionality. It is amazing!! I am so grateful to Dr Viola for giving me hope for my future. Sue
