Was his patient for a couple years (until recently) but had to look elsewhere for competent, comprehensive care. He chronically under books time for appointments and is quick to refer out. Would usually book twenty minutes for in person visits and 10 minutes for phone calls but would “make exceptions” of extending in person appointment times dependent on circumstances. Often brought medical students into his appointments and after a couple times of agreeing no longer felt it necessary to ask for my consent every subsequent time he did this despite being required to. I found him lacking in empathy and unfamiliar with the concept of meeting a patient where they’re at. He once told me that “it’s not his job to fix me” which I found quite insulting since a) I never asked him for anything out of the scope of his practice b) I’ve never considered or referred to myself as broken and c) I come prepared to our appointments whereas I could tell he doesn’t. Despite asking for my opinion on everything I rarely felt listened to or understood by him. It was continually difficult to effectively communicate with him, he’d have me repeat a request multiple times before fulfilling it. It was disappointing that he couldn’t build good rapport after years and was never able to get a good grasp of my healthcare needs despite my transparency and communicativeness as well as, having access to my records and the ability to consult with my other doctors. He often put the cognitive burden on me to remember and recount things when they were things he would have access to in my file. I usually had to take initiative to get him to follow up on things he said he’d do (like referrals) including follow up communication with me. There were times he would agree to do certain tasks that fall into his scope of practice and available clinic services (like medical paperwork) but then it would later become apparent that he was unfamiliar with how to do the task or what it required from him. He seems eager to take students but not about learning how to improve his own practice. He was not trauma informed and has a strange aversion to tears. There were times in our conversations when he would become defensive or standoffish despite what felt like excessive efforts on my part to communicate in a way he’d be receptive to. I felt I was much more accommodating to him than he was to me and I often felt he and his office staff created more work for me. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone who is neurodivergent or has complex (or even just beyond basic) medical needs. I found the office staff to be very inconsistent in their ability to helpful or do what was asked of them and I had a hard time communicating with them over the phone. This clinic charges about $100 / 20 minutes spent on paperwork. Based on their abundance of fees, eagerness to book many back to back clients and high frequency of hosting medical students despite not calling themselves a teaching clinic, they seem like a very profit-focused clinic.

This doctor was seems to have a lack of knowledge and seems to just refer out rather than listen to my concerns. Think he could think about how he interacts with people. Really talks down to me which is hard for me as I lack confidence and makes getting medical care hard.

Seems like this Doctor is on a time clock and does not push past your appointment time for patient concerns. Instead tells you to rebook and wait to address concerns. I did not feel heard or supported. Think it’s time for a new doctor as this is not my first experience of this.

Baruta has been my doctor for years. He is attentive to all my concerns, and takes the time to explain why he does or does not think something is concerning and answer all my questions. I've had some complicated health issues, and he has been quick to refer me to specialists but still keeps up to date on my status.

This doctor is bizarre to interact with and really speaks down to patients in appointments. I’m not sure if he has a spectrum disorder or what it is. Strange interactions for sure.

Dr. Baruta is the epitome of fragile ego and inflated self-importance masquerading as professionalism. Any attempt to express genuine emotion or concern is met not with empathy, but with defensiveness and condescension. He treats dialogue as insubordination and responds by shutting down entirely, making it clear that patient input is unwelcome. His bedside manner is cold, clinical, and utterly devoid of human connection. If you’re looking for a compassionate, communicative physician, look elsewhere. This is not patient care, it’s a performance, and a poor one at that. Run, don’t walk, away from this so-called “doctor.”

I have been with Dr Baruta for a couple years now. For my needs he has been nothing short of helpful. I see him for my annual check ups, prescription refills and any general concerns that might arise. At first I wasn't sure of his personality, he seemed condiscending, but honestly I appreciate that he takes the time to explain things. Any time I have had any testing done like labs, or ultrasound, regardless of result he has called me to follow up. Im thankful to have found him as it is near impossible to find a dr these days. I have definitely had FAR worse in the past. Im surprised at some of the reviews to be honest.

Unprofessional and egotistical. Very surprised this doctor has patients. I’ll be looking elsewhere
