Dr Matt Grossi is incredible. I was attempting to achieve a vbac, something that I had received criticism for from other OBGYNs. Grossi took the time to go over my history, and told me he thinks i’d be successful. He was so supportive and reassuring the entire process. I truly trust him. My birth went as planned and I felt so reassured having him as my OB. He took the time to visit me after, tell me congratulations and that i did amazing, then discharged me. He also invited me to see him at his clinic if I ever needed anything. I don’t plan on having any more babies, but if I did, he would be the doctor i’d want to deliver them. His calm reassuring presence really helped calm my nerves. Birth is unpredictable, so having an OB who is calm and confident helps change the mood. He has a deep respect for natural birth and doesn’t push c sections unnecessarily.
Dr. Grossi, came to Fort McMurray from Calgary. We were so happy to get him, he was nice and knowledgeable. He would leave a room and have people praising him. Dr. Grossi, did my emergency C-Section and it went flawlessly. I believe he is the reason I was up and moving around as much as I was. (Of course not overdoing it) if you see this Matt, thank you so much for delivering our beautiful Isla.
Wow. What a dream. Dr Grossi lives in Calgary but I was lucky enough that he came to Grande Prairie and did my C-section. The surgery was flawless and he was the nicest human ever. I wish I could travel to Calgary just so he could be my doctor.
Condescending and not knowledgable. Would not recommend.
Dr Grossi has been my doctor for several years now and is the absolute best. He diagnosed and treated a problem that many other doctors had missed. I am so grateful for him and hold him in high regard.
Although Dr. Grossi was nice and kind, I found he was not explanatory nor thorough enough as my Maternity Doctor. To me, he did not explain the risks and benefits enough for getting a c-section over a natural birth for my second baby (because I had the option this time). He kind of just said that a natural birth would be better. I had some fears about a natural birth, and he could have explained things more on these fears I guess. He also could have also spoken more about the benefits of a second c-section, like for example he could have even asked if I was going to have another baby in the future and if I would want a tubal ligation - because that’s an option with a planned c-section. Not that it’s necessary but he could have mentioned this because a lot of women have that done during planned c-sections. I was to be induced and I feel he could have explained induction options and procedures better too. He did not even tell me when my next pap test was due after my birth because I knew it was overdue, and my first Maternity Doctor did that on my 6 week check up. I think he’s just a quiet guy and of course he is qualified but could really really improve with the above that I mentioned on being more thorough and explanatory.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Grossi. Though he wasn’t my prenatal doctor, he was the doctor on call when I needed emergency surgery, and he performed my hysterectomy. From that moment, he became a crucial figure in my recovery. After the surgery, I was in the ICU and didn’t even recognize him when he visited, but he wasn’t offended at all. Instead, he took the time to check on me regularly. During my post-surgery visits, Dr. Grossi and his team went above and beyond. He didn’t just rush through appointments—he genuinely sat with me, explained every aspect of the surgery, and made me feel seen and valued. This is doubled for his team at the hospital. One of them made sure they took every staple out because they were there from the moment I got placed into the icu and wanted to see me out. Pure love. That’s all I can say. He emphasized how the surgery was life-saving, and hearing that from him meant the world. Dr. Grossi is compassionate, patient, and truly cares for his patients. I will forever be grateful for his skill and kindness. Thank you a million times over for saving me and giving my girls their mom. Thank you, Dr. Grossi, for literally saving my life and for your unwavering support during such a difficult time.
Great surgeon, my c-section went flawlessly, quick and pain free. My recovery has been very smooth, and my scar is healing perfectly and I have little discomfort.
In an extremely stressful and potentially life threatening situation, Matt Grossi not only saved my life and my baby’s life, but made it seem very easy.
Dr.Grossi was wonderful in my delivery. Throughout the process I felt like I was in safe hands
