Ratings for Dr. Henry D. Kaplan

Where did he go? His mysterious disappearance has been disguised as “retirement” but how could he retire with no notice to his patients/colleagues? He is a top notch doctor and a caring person. I hope he’s okay. We miss you Dr. Kaplan!
Dr. Henry D. Kaplan is a very caring doctor when it comes to the patient. He checks the eyes thoroughly. If there is a problem with the eyes, he will let the patient know and explain everything in detail to the patient. Referrals are made if there is a serious problem. Dr. Kaplan is one in a million. I hope he comes back to his patients. He is the best. Sincerely, Betty Mahabirsingh
Dr Kaplan is the very best doctor when it comes to eye examination. I feel confident having him to check my eyes. He certainly knows what he’s doing. He is very knowledgeable , patient and gentle. He’s a one of a kind.
Dr Kaplan is the best Doctor when it comes to examining the eyes. He thoroughly checks the eyes at all times without hurrying. I did not see him on my last visit. It’s very concerning to me. Just wondering if he’s at another location. He is very knowledgeable and he knows what he’s doing. Finally I just have to say he’s the very best .
Dr Kaplan is the best. If he had not observed the changes in my eyes due to diabetes, I may not be seeing today.
Dr Kaplan has been my sister’s opthalmologist for over 30 years. He saved her eyes from glaucoma. He is an extremely compassionate, knowledgable, cares deeply for his patient. Yes, the waiting is long, my husband used to wait 4, 5 hours with dr Kravetz. I used to wait 5,6 hours at my previous opthalmologist clinic for over 30 years, with no testing like the ones I am receiving at dr Kaplan office. On top of that, I had to pay out of pocket for everything there, I never left his clinic without paying $200 or $300. I was there sometimes 3 months, or 6 months. And every time I had to wait at least 4, 5 hours since the beginning, with no tests being done like at dr Kaplan office. When my opthalmologist retired during covid, I was so grateful to be accepted as his patient. Every time I saw dr Kaplan for the last two years, I always received 3 tests done on me, before seeing dr Kaplan, and these tests take time, hence the waiting. If you are going to any opthalmologist, you will have to wait at least 3 or 4 hours.
appalled at the unprofessionalism of the staff, waited 4 hours AFTER APPOINTMENT TIME to be spoken to. watched the whole office empty, was redirected to wait in the hallway, not informed of anything until I had to leave the office due to time constraints, will never return to this unprofessional office again.
Dr. Kaplan is a humble, kind, compassionate, caring and very knowledgeable opthomologist. He a very patient and helpful doctor. In this day and age, it is very difficult to find such a caring person. He puts his patients first. He never lets you feel rushed and he is always attentive to his patient’s needs. His examinations are very thorough and you leave his office knowing that you have had a very thorough examination.
I have had the extreme pleasure of seeing Dr. Kaplan every six months for the past twenty years. I travel 2.5 hours each way to be treated by a man that I consider to be one of the greatest doctors I have met in my life. Sometimes the best things in life are worth the wait. To all those others who complain about their wait times, please go elsewhere. You don't deserve to see him. Beyond his compassion, is a doctor who excels in his field. He treats everyone he sees the same way. No exceptions! He takes his time, he is thorough in his examinations. He doesn't cut corners and answers all your questions and concerns. No doctors do that anymore! No where! One time he noticed a change behind the back of my right eye. He immediately referred me to St. Mikes Hospital. They in turn after many tests sent me to Princess Margaret Hospital. It was like a scene from Clockwork Orange. Four surgeons prodding my eye with metal devices. All this took place in a month, only Due to Dr. Kaplan. All I can say is that without Dr. Kaplan and his staff my life would be different. I'm so happy to still have my eyesight. Most of the clientele in the waiting room are retired anyways. Where do these people really need to go in a hurry? Bring a book (if you know how to read) , oh wait that may take time! News flash, when you're blind it won't matter.
I have been a patient for years with Dr. Kaplan. If it wasn't for Dr. Kaplan I would of been blind today. He discovered that I had macular hole in one eye and referred me right away to a specialist who deals with these types of conditions. I had my surgery and Dr. Kaplan is still following me up to this day to make sure my eye pressure is under control. I am blessed to have an ophthalmologist as Dr. Henry Kaplan. His staff is great and the wait time is definitely worth it. Betty Mahabirsingh
