Unfortunately, Dr. Kilcawley is a wonderful depiction of all that is wrong with current day psychiatry. She is surface level in her assessments, biased & stigmatising, and never listens to her patients. You could tell her one thing, and she’d interpret it as completely different - because she has a predisposed idea of your situation before you even open your mouth. She will slap a diagnostic label onto you and some arbitrary medication, then discharge you. For the level of service, she is insanely expensive. Not to mention her lack of punctuality. If you need to see a psychiatrist, don’t be fooled by her “extensive qualifications”, there are many much more knowledgeable and understanding than her.

I felt the advice given to my partner was sometimes unclear and sometimes contradictory. I am unaware of what normal practice/legal obligation is in this situation but there was no contact or acknowledgement from Dr. Kilcawley after my partner ended his life, despite his having been an active patient of hers up until his death.

Avoid at all cost. Dishonest practitioner. Inability to provide quality psychiatric care to adults.

Very compassionate and kind in her approach towards her patients. Best in town. Highly recommend!
