Dr C. Goldberg doesn't give answer and talk much to patient, even in his office, he won't discus the case in details with patient, before and after surgries. He won't tell you when it will be cured.
First thing this man did was scare the heck out of me by suggesting I had glaucoma. He then ordered me to make an appointment for a test for my suspected glaucoma, then promptly charged me 240.00 for the privilege.(I envy the person who paid 90.00),I could not sleep for days while I waited for the appointment. Days later & (still living in fear)I was finally was given the test & given another appointment to see the good Doctor. A few days later I waited with great trepidation for the results. When he saw me he was very evasive about the results of the test& seemingly did not have the results readily available.I had to press him repeatedly to get the admission that I did not have glaucoma at all,but another less serious condition, not related in any way to glaucoma.I believe this man to be avaricious & oblivious of the pain he inflicts on others.I truly hope I am mistaken & he is simply incompetent.
Dr.Goldberg has no response to this website. If he does not know this, it's not fair to him. If he knows but did not reply, I feel pity for him because he does not dare to face people's creticizing, even reputation damaging. My eye doctor is not he now, but I have told my present doctor about this website. She said she is watching the situation. Please his patients tell him about this to make him answer.
Saw me almost right away... I had a 9am appointment with about 3 other people. I was done by 10am and the staff was able to get my glucoma testing arranged for the same day. Doctor Goldberg is nice and soft spoken but did take the time to explain to me the problems I was having with my vision. BTW, for all those complaining about testing not covered by OHIP -- CONTACT OHIP!! I got my appointment within 1 week and it wasn't even that urgent. The staff is helpful and were able to answer my questions regarding the testing. I would recommend him.
Office is porrly organised and the schedule is over booked. three other patients had the same appt time. Staff try to apologise for the wait but you know that it is the doctor who makes his schedule that way. Once you get in to see him he asks for money for more testingg without telling you what the tests are for and no feedback about the results from previous tests. WILL ASK MY OPTOMETRIST FOR ANOTHER "SPECIALIST" TO SEE.
I'm 20 years old with almost perfect vision, my only complaint was that occasionally I would see a "halo" effect. We weren't even 2 minutes into the conversation when he said I should have a glucoma test which would cost me $90!! I waited 3 flipping hours to see this doctor and all he wants is my money!!! There is no specialist here, there is only a thief. I went to see someone else for a second opinion and it turns out all I have are occular migraines. THE BIGGEST BS I'VE EVER SEEN. Beware, he gets his staff to lie to the patients too. And there are two waiting rooms... just when you think you're almost next, they move you to the back to wait some more!
My son saw him when he was 9 and 10, first he said he needed glasses, we got them. On the next visit he said he didn't, after they were already paid for. He also said that he could help my son who is learning disabled. He never did, he was supposed to refer him to sick kids,we waited,he never did. He refused to fill out the reports for the schools education assessment. We were lied to and treated like we didn't matter to them. I would never refer this Dr. to anyone!!!Also he made us wait for 3 hours for our appt.for a 10yr old!! I am disgusted with their secretaries too, they wouldn't even call back when we thought that we had left our health card there!
Businessman. Glaucomascope & vision field was $90. Said OHIP didn't cover it. Won't send a letter back to your doctor without a referral from your doctor EVERY visit. Hate the wait. Hate the TV commercial for his face peels. Was downstairs where he performs the laser and it is a very elegant spa. I keep going back for his knowledge and that is the only reason. Just dread going to him because of the wait time. I make appts. for his 1st one in the am - 9am. He doesn't arrive until almost 9:30 and then takes his personal friends in before me. Grrrrrrrrrrr! He did do lazer surgery for my glaucoma on both eyes and did a fine job.
As others have stated, be prepared to wait wait wait, an hour is not unusual. Don't be fooled when they call your name - there's another waiting room. Endless loop infomercial, saw it several times. The patient rooms are connected by doorways so he does not waste time going out in the hall. Have to ask ask ask if you want any explanations. Then ask again. Best thing is the free parking.
Dr. Goldberg is a BUSINESSMAN whose primary goal in life is to accumulate as much money as he can. I had a sight-threatening bleed in my right eye and he did not even dilate my eyes to look in. He told me I need a visual field test that I would have to pay for (even though OHIP should cover it, if its medically justified). Dr. Goldberg is an inadequate physician who cares more about doing laser eye surgery and skin peels than SAVING vision.
