If you are a woman steer clear of Dr. Cameron. His beside manner is terrible, coming from a medical professional background myself, I have never seen anyone so incredibly rude and dismissive to a patient. He will ask you questions unrelated to what you’re seeking him for and dismiss you of anything you are concerned about. This is also not a one off either. This is the second time I have seen him, the first time I went years ago he tried to tell me that my foot wasn’t broken when it visibly was. Save yourself time and seek medical help elsewhere.
I genuinely have had some of the worst interactions with him. He takes years to diagnose me with anything, I go to different walk in doctors just to get simple referrals and when I ask him he decides I don’t need them, after I get one from a walk in he asks me “why I don’t ask him instead?” This has been my doctor since 2018 and just a week ago I finally got an appt to see a specialist for something I’ve been having issues with since 2018. after literally YEARS of asking, he finally referred me. He tells me he wants me to make phone appts cause my in person ones aren’t important enough (prescription refills & other things) and then misses my phone appts regularly. I have so many horrible more encounters, and I know I need a new doctor but there’s none out there. 0/5.
I'm a colleague of Dr. Curtis. While he can be blunt and doesn't often sugarcoat, he deeply cares about patients. He is a good person. He is also a workhorse. Not many people could handle as much as he does.
Dr. Curtis has been my physician for 6 years and has consistently provided quality care. He is professional and remarkably thorough, with an impressive memory visit to visit. He seems ultra-focussed on addressing underlying causes, rather than just prescribing to mask symptoms. If you don't want to work on root causes, go somewhere else. He is always respectful. I am female and baffled by the comments on this site suggesting this doctor is unprofessional with female patients. This has definitely not been my experience. My biggest concerns with Dr. Curtis is his clinic which has at times had impolite and chaotic reception staff (but seems to be improving the last year) and the crowded waitroom. Maybe because of where the clinic is, there always is at least one loud, rude patient arguing with reception. I dread the waitroom.
Excellent doctor. Dr. Curtis has a no-nonsense approach, and does not waste time on the irrelevant. He is knowledgeable, articulate, and I have great confidence in his abilities. No hesitation to send a patient to another doctor with specific expertise, unlike my family doctor. The staff at the Broad Street clinic is helpful too.
Like many other women have warned: steer clear of this doctor if you value your health, your dignity, or being spoken to like a human being. His behavior is arrogant, inappropriate, and laced with undertones that are borderline predatory. This isn’t a doctor — it’s a deeply insecure man hiding behind a title he doesn’t deserve. Medicine is wasted on him.
Gave nasal spray for a swollen eye. Misdiagnosed & didn’t seem concerned with eye swelling. That night we had to go to ER in the middle of the night due to pain. Child had an IV put in and has to go back to the ER for 3 days in row so he can have medication administered into his IV. ER doctor said it is very important that we got this treated properly.
Almost in te middle of the last week of February I accompanied to my friend -he is male senior patient- to see a Dr. At Broad St. Clinic, as he wasn’t feeling well he wanted to know about lab results previously done. My friend go into a walking doctor, this unfortunately was Dr. Curtis, I do respect my friend privacy he went into the room with the Dr. And was kicked out almost immediately, I did asking what happen and he told me that after checking into the computer for his results the doctor told him that he was ok, nothing wrong with him? My friend told him that he was feeling uncomfortable while coughing for several days so the doctor told him that was nothing wrong with it, not even did the regular physical examination. Then one day after my friend received a phone call from the desk clinic telling him that the doctor was about to make him a phone call at home on the preceding week? Meaning be waiting! What if he gets gravity ill? Why this current consultation practices still going on by this pathetic individual, with no ethics, compassion, and professionalism? We the patients also deserve respect and be advised to prevent posible escalation that could put in danger our life. So, is there someone who acknowledges this situations and care? Thank you for reading.
When I visited Dr. Curtis, I had a severe chest infection and uncontrollable coughing for nearly 4 weeks. Despite seeing multiple doctors, no treatment had effectively improved my condition. My previous family doctors had relocated, and with my next appointment unavailable until Feb 2025, I relied on walk-in clinics for care. I chose this clinic because I had seen my chest X-ray results, which mentioned bronchitis/pneumonia, and I wanted immediate guidance after the others doctors I had seen were unavailable for days. During my appointment, I explained my concerns to Dr. Curtis, including the X-ray results. Instead of addressing my symptoms, he chastised me for “hopping around from clinic to clinic” and dismissed my attempts to clarify my situation. When I mentioned what the report stated, he responded skimmed it for a few seconds before concluding, "You're fine. It says it's not pneumonia." Despite me saying, “Oh if you continue reading, it says…” he cut me off, "Yeah, yeah, it says a lot of things." This is what the report said: "Accentuation of the central bronchovascular structures and bronchial wall thickening is noted as described. While no mass or consolidation exists to suggest the presence of pneumonia, diagnostic considerations would include atypical/interstitial pneumonia, chronic bronchitis and respiratory bronchiolitis, (possibly as a reflection of tobacco exposure or noxious inhalation)." After listening to my breathing and observing my coughing fits, Dr. Curtis prescribed antibiotics. I said that I was on antibiotics during this round of illness already and asked which ones he was thinking. He raised his voice a bit and said, “Well, it’s your responsibility if you’re just hopping around from doctor to doctor to inform me of the name of that medicine. Keep it with you. Know the name,” while shaking his head. Then I asked if it was the same one that I was on for like 4 days. He argued and said, "No, it wouldn't have been 4 days. It's 5 days. The appropriate treatment for that is for 5 days." At that point, just to prove that he was correct, he went back in my file and checked my meds. He said, “See? It’s 5 days, not 4 days. See, just like I said.” He then said just ride it out until it gets worse. I said that’s what the last doctor told me and I said that this is the 'gets worse' that he's referring to. When I asked if I should go to urgent care to get help, he said, “It’s not my job to make your life decisions for you,” and began leaving the room. As I became emotional, trying to explain my frustration and desperation, he responded curtly, saying that he’s done all he can and went in the hallway. I started tearing up and said that I’ve been to three doctors about this and I’m just trying to get help. I asked if I should go to urgent care for treatment. While in the open doorway, he loudly said, “it’s not my job to make your life decisions for you.” Then he walked out of the room. I stood there for about 15 seconds, stunned, with tears welling up in my eyes, asking what his name was. In the middle of the hallway, next to rooms with open doors, and with patients in them, he loudly said, “NOW YOU’RE THREATENING ME?!” I said that I wasn’t but should know the name of the physician who treated me. He said, “Well, if you’re not threatening me then tell me the names of the other two walk-in doctors you saw.” I said “Dr ___ and..” He said “Yeah that’s what I thought!” Then I said the other drs name but he continued yelling. I walked out to the main waiting room, in tears, completely stunned, and had a panic attack. The receptionist kindly assisted me, helping me calm down and providing tissues and space. While I was trying to regulate myself, Dr. Curtis yelled from the hallway by examination room, mocked my panic attack by yelling, “YEAH, WELL NOW I’M HAVING A PANIC ATTACK TOO!” and slammed a door. The receptionist comforted me, apologizing for his behavior, and confirming this was not an isolated incident. She provided information for a more reliable doctor and the clinic manager’s contact for feedback. The following day another physician reviewed my results, confirmed it was either bronchitis or pneumonia, and prescribed a 10-day antibiotic treatment that significantly improved my condition. The experience with Dr. Curtis left me shaken. Having a panic attack while already struggling to breathe was terrifying and humiliating. His behavior—demeaning, antagonistic, and emotionally volatile—is unacceptable for a medical professional. This experience has caused lasting medical trauma and highlights the need for accountability in patient care.
