Ratings for Dr. Amin Ladak (Aminmohamed)
3.5
Dr. Ladak is a truly wonderful and knowledgeable Doctor! To be honest, he has changed my life for the better; at the exact right time that I needed it. His bedside manner is great. I find him friendly and caring, but most importantly honest. He will not sugar coat anything, which is refreshing, and what you need in a doctor. His approach was not to push any vegan belief on me - but rather to show me the hard evidence and allowed me to make my own choice. I was extremely overweight for my height. I was at 242 pounds 6 months ago, and I switched over to a vegan diet and I safely lost 55 pounds in 6 months. Not to mention my energy level has increased significantly. I was always tired, and now I am able to exercise and go for walks with my dogs without being out of breath. Dr. Ladak will not give you medication unless it is necessary. I am on the correct vitamins (vitamin D, B12 and Iron) needed for my plant based diet/deficiency due to living in the northern hemisphere. He encouraged me to do my own research as well. I truly believe that he is helping me reverse my fatty liver and damage that I have done to my body over the years. 5 stars is not enough to give a Doctor like Dr Ladak for listening to me, keeping me informed and changing my life for the better! Thank you! :)
This was some time ago, but while looking for a doctor, I spoke to him seeking SSRIs for depression and anxiety and was instead directed to watch a list of documentaries about plant-based diets. His attitude as a doctor speaking to a patient was very arrogant, as if to say, "You are the one with health problems, not me, and you're asking me to help you despite doing nothing to deserve it." I only ever showed him a respectful if reluctant open-mindedness and said I would look into his suggestions. But the documentaries were no longer on Netflix where he said they'd be, and when I looked them up further I saw that they were highly criticized, full of cherry-picked anecdotes and pseudoscience. I also spoke to some of my vegan friends who felt this recommendation was completely insane, as they were on SSRIs themselves, which helped me gain some confidence back after he frankly tried to tear me down. When I called him back the next week, I said that I had not seen the documentaries, and that it would be difficult for me to completely change my diet before trying medication, but that I was willing to try eliminating some foods. He reacted very rudely, clearly oversensitive to pushback, and told me I would not be welcome as his patient. I dodged a bullet. He should not be a doctor.
Dr. Ladak is not a good listener. After being told repeatedly that I already had a specialist and at 92 I didn’t want to see someone new, his receptionist told me that he couldn’t help me to get an appointment with my own doctor. When I called my previous family doctor - who was retiring at the end of the month - and told him of my dilemma, he sent in a referral and I had an appointment in a week. Dr. Ladak is a disgrace to the medical profession. He cares more about his ego than his patient’s health.
Extremely rude and uncaring. Waited two hours to see him only to be looked down upon and be treated like a sub-human the entire (5 minute) visit. Clearly in the profession for the title and ego stroking because he could not care less about my problem, even when I was clearly distressed in front of him. Dr. Ladak is a disgrace to the healthCARE profession.
WORST experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. He was incredibly dismissive of my concerns, condescending, and all around completely unprofessional. He clearly has absolutely no bedside manner, I genuinely think he became a doctor so that he could feel superior to others and push his beliefs into them. I was told my diet was awful and that I need to stop eating meat, eggs, dairy. I was shamed for my health concerns. I was told to watch documentaries on plant based diets. I was told to “look at the Ontario health-guide” because I eat so horribly. Worst doctor ever. He shouldn’t even be able to call himself a doctor.
Doctor was very pushy and came across rude in his interaction with me. Kept interrupting me when I was explaining my symptoms, and told me what I was saying didnt matter. Only upside was that I got a Sunday appointment, which most places don't offer. Looking for a family doctor? Look elsewhere. Seems from these reviews, either a lot are fake, or he is very hot and cold.
Dr. Amin Ladak is a God sent from heaven. He is extremely knowledgeable and caring. He didn’t rush both my phone call with him and my visit and took over an hour each time to explain everything. I am Vegan and so happy that I found a doctor that shares the same beliefs as me. If you are not willing to do a change in your life to better yourself then don’t waist his time and yours. You will see results if you do what he tells you. I am so grateful to have met him and honoured to be his patient. For those who wrote the bad reviews, shame on you!! You are not worthy to be his patients. Go find a doctor that will drown you with prescription pills and tell you only what you want to hear. Becoming healthy takes a lot of individual work and effort. If you’re a lazy person and a closed mind then he is not the doctor for you. Dr. Ladak and his staff are all very nice, polite and caring. Thank you for taking me on :)
A Welcoming Experience with a Slight Hiccup I recently visited this Doctor Ladak’s office and was pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and I didn't have to wait long before being called in for my appointment. The doctor himself was approachable and took the time to listen to my concerns, which was greatly appreciated. Actually I was so impressed I provided his name as a recommendation to a few associates. ( I still don’t regret that decision ) he was phenomenal. The young Michael Jordan of the practice. However, I did encounter a small issue during my visit. We had a disagreement about the medication dosage prescribed to me. While we couldn't see eye to eye on this matter and ultimately decided to part ways, I still want to acknowledge the doctor's efforts. He genuinely tried to help and find a solution that would work for me, even though we couldn't reach an agreement. Despite the difference of opinion, I am grateful for the initial positive experience and the doctor's attempt to provide me with the best care possible. The welcoming environment of the office and the doctor's willingness to engage in a dialogue left a positive impression on me. Please note i sooner realized all doctors are NOT on the same level even though they might have similar credentials some doctors are just horrible and trickled in the position but Dr.Ladak is a doctor you can be proud of. The only advice I have for this young superstar is remember that a pleasing cheerful patient attitude ( personality ) will get you far. Thanks Dr Ladak - Nicoli
This doctor obviously hasn't had much bedside experience shown by this lack of empathy, respect and basic customer service skills. Looks down on his patients, talks to them in a very abrupt, rude manner. His clerical staff also the same. They are very rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. Me and my family had several encounter with this doctor and his clerical staff, they have been nothing but apathetic. This doctor pushes his own values on patients, does not take the time to listen, nor take into consideration the patients' input and values. It's either his way or the highway.
Dr Amin Ladak is ahead of his time and is the future of medicine. He takes time to explain how the body works and how healing your body begins with proper nutrition and exercise. I am fortunate he is my doctor
