He always rushes through appointments and doesn't even seem to try to see what's wrong, only asks questions and makes an assumption from there. Always prescribes simple things like advil or tylenol, even if told they don't work.

Been seeing Dr. Akola for a while now. Dealing with some difficult issues in terms of diagnosis. To shorten my story - in 49 years on earth, 15 or so with these issues causing me grief and difficulties dealing with other doctors and our medical system - he is the only guy I can say has listened, heard, understood, and is working with us to try get the help I need. Wonderful man I highly recommend.

Dr. Akolo is an amazing doctor! We have waited over 15 years for a doctor who would take the time to listen to us regarding my husbands health issues. Dr. Akolo listened to my husbands symptoms, listened to my years of research and as a team we are finally close to a full diagnosis and hopefully the road to his recovery. I can’t thank him enough!

We’ve had nothing but issues with this doctor. The final breaking point was when my husbands skin cancer when misdiagnosed by Akolo. My husband saw Akolo for several years, and he consistently prescribed my husband topical ointments to treat what we later discovered (from another doctor) was skin cancer. On top of that- they didn’t get good margins on my husband biopsy & our family doctor once again didn’t tell my husband. Another doctor had to inform us & schedule the biopsy appointment. We confronted Akolo about this, and he refused to take any responsibility. Myself and my son have also had issues with Akolo not listening, and giving poor medical advice. Don’t let his fancy office & pleasant staff fool you into thinking he’s a high caliber Doctor.

Been looking for family doctor since ours retired 6 yrs ago. Been through a few doctors since then which haven't worked out for various reasons. Been through a couple of them 'doctor interviews' where you fill out the form and they then call you - if they decide they want you as a patient. Since when does getting a family doctor feel like a job interview? At any rate - never even got calls from either of them. If you sat in their waiting rooms you'd see and understand why. Dr Akolo and his staff are fast, friendly, courteous, office is clean. Yes he's been late a time or two dealing with patients at the hospital - big deal it happens. I'd sooner he was a couple minutes late giving the attention his patients need than be rushing. Very good service and seems like a very good doctor. We very much appreciate and feel lucky to have him as our doctor. Thank you.

He cares. He asks many questions related to the issue your having. Which leads me to believe he is searching for the cause.

Always able to get in without too much trouble, if he is on a hospital rotation and sees your name on the list of patients, he comes to check on you. Will follow up when needed, and I have found he doesnt prescribe just to get you out. Sometimes runs late but always apologizes.
