Really helpful and listened to all my concerns. I like the fact that there is a female obgyn is Sudbury now.
Unfortunately, I didn't get anything out of Dr. Garisa. I was stressed throughout most of my pregnancy because she told me that my baby was way too small (she wasn't too small and everything was fine according to the 4+ ultrasounds she sent me for) but she kept telling me the ultrasound was wrong, and when I told her that I was having pains in my pelvic area, she didn't even seem bothered by it. I ended up in the hospital for 4 days with alot of bleeding and was put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy because I became high risk. If she would have paid more attention to detail and listened to my concerns, I would have had an easier delivery. She failed to fill out my paper work properly so the hospital didn't realize that my pelvic area was too small to have a natural birth. The nurses and doctors told me that I should have had a c-section and that Dr. Garisa should have informed them of that. Stay away from her!! She has no care for her patients!
This Doctor is an over ultrasounder to start. We went for 4 ultrasounds, one of them being at sick kids hospital. We were given little info on why we had to go to sick kids and emotions were high. If she would have given more info on what is happening it would have saved much emotional stress during this time. Dr. G took my swabs at 36wks however failed to do her job and never received the results back (if the swab was even sent) and in result my first child was in ICU due to getting Hep B which could have been avoided. If she would have sent the results away, she would have known I was a carrier therefore I would have been put on antibiotics when my water broke and my son's chance of gettig sick would have dropped to 1 of 4000 chance. Carrying my baby for 9 months then having to leave him at the hospital in ICU due to Dr. faultiness is UNEXCEPTABLE.
I went to see this doctor today and I have nthing wrong to say about her. She mesured my belly, felt it to make sure all was well. She checked my weight and got me to listen to the heart beat so ya me and my husband were very pleased with our appointment.
If you want your baby delivered well before the due date then she's the doctor for you-I was havng my first baby and had 3 visits with her and thankfully my gut instinct told me to change doctors and I did-she doesn't appreciate your viewpoint and will do whatever she wants to do-she changed her mind about my delivery plan many times so I couldn't go with her
she is very understanding and actually listens to conerns unlike some male physicians. Just had surgery by her and was very pleased with everything.
I was referred to this Dr because wait times to get into see the others were ridiculous! If you are looking for a dr that cares, is knowledgable, and pays attention to detail...then DO NOT go to this one! Sudbury is in dire need of Dr's and it is too bad when we get someone like this to take up the slack!
I cannot believe this Doc is practising! I have heard stories from other unfortunate women that had seen her and refused to go back! I only wish I had known this feedback BEFORE I had the misfortune of dealing with this Doc! Unfortunately we do have little to choose from when it comes to the needs of women in Sudbury. The top Dr's are booked solid and the waiting times are crazy! It's too bad that some of us have to learn the hard way!
She wouldn't let me see her my entire second trimester (prenatal care, who needs it any how?)Only had 6 days notice for a planned c section. Never weighed/measured me once. I had virtually nothing in my file after being her patient for 5 mos.Fairly professional though, and calm. My C sec. scar is twice as big as for my first delivery & she used staples which by the time I got home weren't even attached @ both sides. No care in the hosp,my uterus could have swelled up to my throat as far as she & the hospital staff was concerned. So glad I will never have another baby delivered in Suds again. Unfortunately we don't have much to chose from here. We need to keep our student doctors here, please do whatever you can to make Sudbury a city worth living in!
I have not visited Dr. Garissa in her office yet. I recently had a Colposcopy and a few weeks later a LEEP procedure done by her. She seems pleasant (almost shy like) and answered my questions to my satisfaction. I was not happy with the way she inserted the speculum. It as rather quick and very uncomfortable (almost like a pinching pain). I have had this procedure done by a male OB/GYN in the past and it did not hurt. Overall though, I was satisfied with her.
