Ratings for Dr. John Mathieson
May 8 2021 my hospitals notes show this doctor had diagnosed my ultrasound results at VGH. I’ve never seen anything like this. Report “There is a focal nodular structure seen alongside the left posterior aspect of the endometrial cavity, which is likely a small fibroid.(making a quick and presumed guess?) This measures roughly 16 mm(that’s 1.6 cm!) and displaces the endometrial echo anteriorly on the left. In retrospect this may have been present previously.(absolutely was not there previously ASUMPTION) The margins are quite subtle and difficult to visualize. (What?!) The patient states that her bleeding has been decreasing. (Still bleeding 2 months after a D&C)! I was admitted to hospital May 24 I lost 5 pints of blood in emergency and needed an emergency artery embolization. This doctor made literal assumptions AND A QUICK GUESS. This almost costed me my life if I didn’t get to the hospital when I was bleeding severely like that who knows what could have happened to me. Absolute negligence!
I have received injection treatment at Royal Jubilee Hospital from Dr. Mathieson three times over the past two years He has exceptional bedside manner, and more importantly he is a master at providing effective treatment with the minimum discomfort. He has been a medical educator and is highly regarded. I feel very fortunate to have treatment from him.
Not a good idea to go into patient charts when it's a friend and not a patient admitted Tsk Tsk
Absolutely superb -- a top notch combination of skill and caring.
Ever had a practitioner crank a speculum all the way open in one go with no warning? I have. By this guy. Very, very painful. I don't know how he got this far into his career without a basic understanding of how speculums and vaginas work but here we are. Have lodged a formal complaint with Island Health. Unacceptable abuse of his position, left me feeling teary and violated.
One of the best Doctors I have ever seen. He explains what he is doing and is very kind. Wonderful Doctor. Too bad the cortisone did not work to help my pain but that's life. It doesn't always work. He was very honest about that too telling me that it works most of the time but some times it does not. He is an absolute gem!
Dr M injected my shoulder with cortisone. He explained the whole procedure clearly, told me what to expect, told me what he saw on the x-ray, and patiently answered all my questions. Very personable, relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable and funny. And the injection helped immensely!
walks on water, smart, funny, and VERy knowledgable, able to communicate complicated subjects and make them sound easy.knows a lot about premier league football
An excellent clinician. He discussed the findings on my CT with me. Gave me confidence and compassion. And he knows alot about roses.
