Our daughter has had ongoing complications for 8 months..her pain is REAL not imagined as Dr. Rohde asked me to consider. 5 months of documented strep..all stemming from a severe throat infection 3 months prior...Dr. Rohde said that regardless of the positive strep, because her fevers have all been in the 99.1-99.9 range that she has no infection. He said she could not have rheumatic fever b/c she had no swelling in her joints (although she had 100-150 migratory pains a day in her joint for 3 months) and they almost never diagnose rheumatic fever...although the triage nurse said they had more cases in the past few months than she'd ever remembered. He also did not know his information on ASO titres..while I would feel confident in his ability to help my child if they had a broken arm, if they had an unexplained illness...he had no answers other than to say she may be faking her symptoms or she needs to be seen by someone else.
