I went to the ER with severe pain in the center of my chest and nausea. I explained that I would get sick, and then everything would be OK. He said I probably had stomach ulcers, gave me a script and then discharged me. It happened again, and when I went back I got him again. This time I had chest pains, vomited (@ the hospital),and then the pain went away (as described before). He still said I had ulcers, gave me a script and sent me home. It wasn't until further research that ulcer pains are relieved by eating, not vomiting. Gallstones, on the other hand, present the same symptoms, only pain is relieved after vomiting. After several more months doctors and several thousand $$$ spent, I finally got a GI doc to give me an ultra sound - lo and behold I had gallstones! I had so many that even after getting my gallbladder removed I got pancreatitis and landed a week in the hospital. If you get him in ER, ask for someone else. And if you're stuck with him - seek a 2nd opinion
