Terrible. Went to him for a second opinion due to heavy bleeding and pain. The doctor before him said he would not even consider a hysterectomy which I thought should at least be considered. Right away and without any discussion he referred me for the procedure without even asking why I thought I needed it. I was in so much pain and this doctor was so unprofessional. I didn't end up having the hysterectomy because I was scared that a doctor would be so willing to put me under the knife without knowing or asking about my story. Many years later, I found out I have Adenomyosis. Been suffering with it most of my adult life.
Dr. Kum was the dr one both of my daughters.Loved him is a excellent dr.Very straight forward but knows exactly what he is doing.
I had an appointment with him as young girl. I will never forget that uncomfortable experience. There was no nurse present in the room and his comments were very inappropriate. I left his office and cried the entire way home. That experience took years to get other. I still remember his comments to this day.
Never will see him again. Worst Doctor I have ever dealt with. I would never recommend
I had major complications with my 2nd pregnancy, after having an ultrasound at the HSC I was sent out to the epac clinic to see Dr. Kum, he told me according to the ultrasound there was nothing he could recommend and it would not matter what I done, there was a 50/50 chance I would lose the baby and left. Went to my family dr for follow up and she asked if I found it hard being on bed rest with a 2 year old? I told her I wasn't, she could not believe I wasn't with the report, and said that not doing so would make it inevitable that I would lose this baby. I trusted him to give the right advice with the life of my baby at stake. I would never trust any issue with this idiot again. Lucky enough that baby will soon be 3 and I thank god everyday that my family doctor wanted me to follow up and she stepped in!
Horrible doctor. Saw him after my baby passed. He needed to remove my baby by a D and C because I was too far along. I asked him If my baby was a boy or girl and he says , " Well I can't tell you that because it came out in peices." Could have told me he couldn't determine if it was a boy or girl . I still struggle with what he said and it's already been 3 years. I'll never forget this piece of sh*t "doctor".
I started going to Dr. Kum 27 years ago. He is very straight forward and some people find this puts them off. I prefer it in a doctor. His medical advise and treatment have always been perfect. He's seen me through four pregnancies, dysplasia twice and once for excessive bleeding. I would and have recommended him. And he does have a great sense of humor.
I went for my afterbirth 6 wk appointment. Dr was short, impatient rude. I needed an IUD inserted a horable painful experience. I had bleeding following for almost two years whereas they found the IUD misplaced. a investigation/removal sergery was done where they were unable to remove IUD. I had to have complete historectomy because the IUD had perforated the uterus and was embedded in a muscle near my hip. When my family Dr tried to make contact with Dr Kum he would not return phone calls. Horable
Went for tubal ligation-failed attempt.Had to have incision chemically burned closed twice(never explained what he was doing, why,or the pain involved).Talked me in to getting Essure implanted(though I did my research and didn't like what I read but he assured me that the product in the USA and Canada were different and the side effects were slim to none).Test 4 months later showed it DID NOT work(Dr.Kum said it did but the tech doing dye test said it did not). After 6 weeks of extreme pain I passed one coil.Dr.Kum told me I was the first person that happened to(I have found at least 4 others who had same procedure done by Dr.Kum and passed coil also). All the side effects I was afraid of getting that he assured me that I wouldn't get I did develop from this procedure.I feel like I was lied to by Dr. Kum and am now paying for it by suffering daily because of this god awful procedure.I would NOT recommend him to my worst enemy!
While his bedside manner is lacking, he is actually a great Doc. he knows what he's doing, doesn't patronize and can keep his cool in an emergency. So what if his humour isn't what you like, so what he's short and to the point, every nurse I spoke to has said that he is the one they want in an emergency or for a normal birth. My son nearly died, and if it wasn't for Doc, my child would not be here today. For that alone, he is one of the best I have ever dealt with. Of course I'd recommend him to anyone!
