He is kind, compassionate, and listens to your needs. He treats you like you are a family member. You never feel rushed in his office, and he always provides answering any questions or concerns you might have for him. He is an excellent Urologist and surgeon.\n I am a 60 year old male BPH patient. I came to Dr. Hillyer with a history (o about 8 years) of difficulty urinating, and I was at the maximum amount of med's (10 mg of Terazosin, Flomax, and had to take finasteride as well.) I was on way too much medication, but I had to take it to pee. Dr. Hillyer suggested a less non-invasive surgical procedure called a UROLIFT. It is far better than the roto-rooter T.U.R.P. surgery. You can go to UCLA or USC for this surgery, but Hillyer is the only Dr. in Bakersfield doing it. He skillfully inserted 5 implants. It was a little rough for the first few weeks, but I am urinating now without any medication.
