Dr. Lysak is an exceptional psychiatrist, the best I have ever received care from (and I have seen many in my lifetime). She understands the complexities of mental health in persons with disabilities and chronic health conditions, and has a holistic appreciation for mind-body connection. When it comes to complex trauma and PTSD, her psycho-educational group was an amazing adjunct to individual care, and demonstrates her deep understanding of how mental illness so often originates from trauma. 100% recommend her. She has taught me so much and I am so grateful.

Dr. Lysak is an earth angel! The workshop I just finished with her was life changing for me. She is very genuine, honest and caring. She is truly a rare gem, as far as her ability to provide exactly what I needed and couldn't find for so many years! She and her husband Mark make a great team! I highly recommend her <3

Dr. L is an exceptional doctor and therapist. She is respectful, kind, straightforward, and knowledgeable of both appropriate therapies and medications. I have been my worst self with her and she continues to genuinely and generatively help me in group and also 1-1 sessions. She is easy to talk to, gives really helpful direction and advice when needed, and has provided concrete practical therapeutic tools. I highly recommend her, whether you're new to psychiatry or not.

Dr. Lysak has been the only doctor in 20 years to truly help me because she understands the mind and body are fully connected. This has changed my life: From learning each week in a course, which I refer to as "should have been taught in high school." She's also provided me with medication advice, and been the ONLY one to prescribe what i needed. You'll be lucky to have her help you, and her only mission is to help.

Not to be trusted, especially with our kids. Do not listen if she insists on keeping parents out. We, who have lived with our children's health issues ought to be treated with respect and HEARD!

Dr. Pauline Lysak's response

I do not treat children (<18). I frequently involve family members, but only if the patient consents to this.

She was absolutely terrible, didn’t help me at all and was rude. I hope no one else goes to her. You will be disappointed

Very caring, respectful doctor. Very good listener. Suggested medication but didn’t get pushy or punitive when I declined. I got better after I saw her. Mark is also very helpful and professional.

I think Dr. Lysak and Mark are doing the best they can with the resources and parameters they are provided . The BC healthcare system is very broken and heavily influenced by insurance providers and politics. I wish the overpaid government bureaucrats allowed ongoing individual treatment vs. The MSP paid virtual group therapy offering but that doesn’t fit the payment model they are compensated and authorized for. Go to Dr. Lysak’s web site and read the free book she has to offer . It is likely EXACTLY what you are experiencing and may provide some clarity. Keep smiling..I love your socks .

Dr. Lysak saved my life. It doesn't get better than this for mental health support.
