I was referred to Tammy Cleary by a pain management specialist. I was told I was being referred to a Psychiatrist, an MD, who could prescribe Valium. My community had suffered a power outage on 10/16/15 at 6:30 am and power was not restored until after 10:00 pm. My house was 95 degrees +. I was having to use a flashlight just to get around within my home. I am allergic to my own sweat, and my face was swollen and purple red with large hives. I was in excruciating pain from a pinched sciatic nerve and lymphedema in my left ankle. Upon arriving at her office, the tears were rolling down my cheeks from unbearable pain. Dr. Cleary instantly diagnosed my problem, with no input from me whatsoever, and stated that my ankle compression sock was too tight and was causing the swelling in my foot. I told her that was not the problem. She repeated this a second time. I told her the sock was not too tight. She did this a third time. Thoroughly insulted, I removed my shoe and showed her that my sock had at least a 1/2 " clearance, was not touching my foot and my shoe was to the point of being floppy, it was so loose. I told her I had a difficult time finding her suite. IMMEDIATELY, she defended herself by telling me she takes great care in describing how to find her office and APPARENTLY, I DID NOT THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO WRITE DOWN!!! Actually, I wrote down every word. However, in the dark, I was unable to see that the second page of instructions slipped out of my fingers - and when I got to her building I could not find the rest of the instructions. Only AFTER she took my insurance card and waited for me to COMPLETE THE FORMS, did she advise me that SHE IS NOT IN MY NETWORK! My jaw hit the floor! I have been unemployed for several years now, and could only afford a $15.00 co-pay, and I told her so. From this, we went into her office, where she then declared to me how ANGRY I AM and how DEPRESSED I AM and how I NEED TO BE ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS!!!, never once taking responsibility for her arrogant, know-it-all, preposterous and RUDE BEHAVIOR towards me, which UNDERSTANDABLY caused me to bristle. I mentioned to her that I had not been able to sleep through the night in almost a full year. She did not ask me why. She again ASSUMED - asked me if I am a "CLOCK WATCHER", and proceeded to lecture me on how I have to turn my clock backwards and NEVER have the television on in the bedroom. Uh, I did not say anything about staring at the clock or having the television on in the bedroom. But she began handing me page after page on "SLEEP HYGIENE". My inability to sleep is because I endured 25 oral surgeries from 1996 to 1999, and my oral surgeons could not control the pain from removing a large portion of my jaw bone. They put me on 13 triplicate narcotics, none of which controlled the pain, but ALL of which stole ALL OF THE SERETONIN FROM MY BRAIN. I have to take an artificial form of serotonin. She does not know this to this day - she never asked, and I realized that attempting to provide the facts was FUTILE. Many, many more insulting things were said during this period of time. The most insulting thing of all was Dr. Cleary instructing me to have my psychologist (who has been practicing for more than 50 years!) call HER so that SHE could ADVISE/TEACH MY ESTABLISHED DOCTOR - no kidding here - HOW TO COUNSEL ME. Unbelievable. The final insult was when Dr. Clearly dropped the last bomb on me as I was rising to leave her office, when she announced that SHE IS NOT A PSYCHIATRIST - SHE IS A PSYCHOLOGIST!!! I informed Dr. Cleary not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES - that I already had a psychologist - PRIOR to showing up for this appointment, and that I saw him twice a week for PTSD and was achieving great success. If you are given a referral to see this woman - RUN. GO THE OTHER WAY. And whoever wrote her 5-star "excellent doctor" review on February 4, 2015 is clearly DELUSIONAL. This was absolutely the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, and I am 60 years old. After six years of being molested as a young child from a family member and my father slamming me against the wall every day, choking me with both hands, and then throwing me down on the bed, stepping on my legs, holding my head down and whipping me endlessly, followed by threatening my life if I ever told anyone - and being slugged in the face by him for removing rocks from the flower garden I was planting as a surprise for him, and beaten in front of a school friend because I washed the kitchen table off with a wet paper towel instead of a wash cloth, and so much more - I have spent my entire adult life in counseling - because I vowed I would never, EVER pass this DEMONIC JUNK on to my own children, and this garbage would never happen again to anyone I loved - I can tell you that I have had several WONDERFUL counselors, and I have loving relationships with every one of my doctors to this day. PATHETIC "DR".
