After 30plus years of knee issues and surgeries I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Lagged in, we talked over my problem and he explained that he was to do a total knee replacement, I actually was brought in 6 months early as of people skipping their appointments, surgery was done on a Wednesday and I was discharged on the Saturday, the operation was painful, but I was doing all exercises that we're in the info booklet from the physio dept. He did fantastic work, my knee never felt better. The six week checkup was great and a week later I was on the beach in Mexico.

I was involved in a serious head on collision in 2017. One of my first memories was of Dr. Langevin coming into the ICU to prep me for surgery. The one thing I distinctly remember was him telling me I have a 60% chance of losing my leg. He was very stern and to the point. I hated him! I have also never experienced any type of injury in my 30 years. I kept my leg!! I also saw a different side to him. When you are in the position I was, obviously your going to be upset and hope for a doctor with more compassion. BUT he is the reason I still have my leg. I can't thank him enough!!! My mom is a nurse, and she said it's very unusual for a doctor to come and change your dressings or be there for cast removal. He was extremely hands on and I am so thankful he was my surgeon! My opinion is that he is an exceptional surgeon who gets to the point! I didn't see it then, but I appreciate it now :)

I arrived in Kamloops Hospital after having a vehicle incident in Merritt, BC. Dr. Langevin operated on me, as I had a broken femur. I live in Vancouver. This happened in May of last year 2017, and today I am the person I used to be, I can walk, no walker, no cane, can use transit, can shop. I am 82 years of age. He is the best of the best and I am so thankful that he was the one to operate on me. Thanks so much. Shirley Ross

Dr. Jean Langevin, put knees back in my life. I was 53 when I first saw him at the office. At that point I was bone on bone in both knees. I suffered a fractured that was left untreated by others, and to add to the mix I had a serious workplace injury to my right knee that had been fix back when I was 22. Dr. Langevin told me that he did not know how I was still able to walk. I was not really doing that I was wheelchair bound for any distance. I was booked for the one knee and then a medical complication hit and I was not permitted to have any surgery until that was resolved. Dr. Langevin just told me not to worry he would keep me on the list and as soon as it became possible I would be inserted at the top of the list. In the mean time he kept up my injections. He never let me think that this would not get resolved and that he would be there for me until it was. Medical problem fixed and with in months I was in. He never fibbed about the fact that this was not going to be easy or pain free. He told me it would hurt a lot. And to be honest there was no amount of drugs that could mask the first 3 days. I cried, cursed but kept going and it did get better. And Dr. Langevin was there every step of the way. We discussed the rehab. and the goals. He helped create the plan as I was just barely walking with the other knee. So no having to do the stairs to be able to get discharged. And he even approved taking a set of therapy peddles to the hospital with me to be able to get moving in a way that worked for me. Knee one down and the worst was next up. This was the knee that had been repaired before so add a little ripple. The operation took only 15 mins. longer and even though there was old scare tissue to deal with it get done. Got discharged went home with the plan. Woke up with an infection on the weekend went to the ER. That Doc wanted to drain the knee and I protested greatly but had to give in. I had an infection that lasted for months and was a huge problem that seemed to have no answer. Dr. Langevin sought out information to find the answers but there did not seem to be any except Rx's and time lots and lots of time. And Dr. Langevin stuck with me. And now almost 3 years from the first knee I know that if there is a problem EVER I can just call, and the proof of that is I fell really hard and I called and got in to see him with no problem. TKR is a hard and painful operation that takes each person time to heal. TKR is not a cake walk and improvement takes time and effort on the clients part. You have to work through the pain. I bothers me that as someone who works in health care I see folks that expect these professionals to be our best friends, their not they are our surgeons. And they deal with people who have pie in the sky expectations that when they open their eyes all will be well. Also there are the clients that do not put in the rehab and blame the operation. So we need to do our own part, there are times that things go wrong. I had enough of those. And if you do not get the right vibe from any health care provider see someone else. I know that Dr Langevin is not a hugger, well I just did and I would trust his honesty and his skill any day.

Dr. Langevin has operated on my arm three times - he is amazing. He is to the point and extremely compassionate - he may not give you a hug or tell you that you are more important then any other patient he has but he provides excellent care and does everything he can to help his patients. He jokes around with me during appointments and has called to check on me after surgery. Hopefully I never have to see him again but if I need an orthopedic surgeon again, I will be crossing my fingers that Dr. Langevin can see me!

I had arthroscopic on my knee in 2010. Horrible bedside manner, I was a young female athlete and he made me feel dumb for playing sports. As far as the surgery goes, it was amazing and my knee has never felt better after years of problems. I didn't go back for a second ACL repair that was scheduled because he made me feel small and I was young and felt belittled so I couldn't muster the courage to face him again. Hopefully I will find a different surgeon who will be just as good and a little more polite!

I have read some not-so-nice comments about Dr Langevin! I spoke to my family Dr about him because I was worried. My doctor said "What would you rather have, good bedside manner, OR a Surgeon who is the very best at what he does?". I can tell you he is not only a wonderful surgeon but a wonderful, kind, precise and wonderful person! Before he started my surgery that day I told him that I totally trust and put my leg and surgery in his capable hands and he replied with a wonderful smile. Remember people, you get what you give!

I have hears complaintsabout Dr Langevins bedside manners. He is a surgeon trying to help as many people as he can. Do some homework befor seeing him or any surgeon. The more you know about your conditionn, the more you will be able to make the best choices for yourself. Dr Langevin will offer advise and suggestions but ultimately it is your body and needs to be your choice!

I have had a total knee replacement by Dr. Langevin. Even though I had a major complication...one of the risks associated with a TKR, I am extremely pleased with my outcome and the care received. He is very miticulous and an awesome surgeon.

After reading some of these reviews, I have to say that my encounter was a very good one. I had surgery by Dr. Langevin earlier this year and I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience. From the moments just before surgery to the follow up appointments afterwards, Dr. Langevin was very kind and helpful. He had no problem answering any questions I had or clearing up any concerns I may have brought up to him. He was honest as to how long it could take to recover and after hearing the types of activities I enjoy, he explained what I could do and to what extent without causing any harm. The results were better than I could have expected! I am ecstatic that what I thought was going to be a debilitating injury has in fact allowed me to do more than I could do before. I can't thank him enough!
