Ratings for Dr. Gerald Miley
I have had RA since I was 8 yo and I am currently 33... my complaint with most Rheumatologist are they are rude, short and condescending! NEVER did I think that I would not even make it past the front receptionist. The staff specifically Joyce Culligan is ill prepared to work in customer service let alone a medical setting. I had a 10 am appointment as a first time patient, I was recently married and all of my documents other than my ID had my new name. I brought ALL of my federal ID’s and paper work that states who I am, but the lovely (not so lovely) receptionist continued to argue with me because my picture ID had the wrong last name. Now working in the medical field I know this is a minor problem and did not warrant the reaction ahe provided me! This office and their staff are rude and condescending! Medical professional whether it be the front desk or the DR are there to be compassionate and provide care, not provide your personal opinions. Needless to say I did not keep my appointment and would rather continue to suffer in pain than be treated like scum! Shame on you NEBH
Wow, if I were this doctor and reading these reviews, I would hang my head in shame or clean up my act! I was just given a referral through NEBH for my mother who has severe arthritis and after reading these comments, I will cross him off my list. I think NEBH needs to take a look at these reviews because I think the hospital is such a notable hospital, they shouldn't be giving out referrals to him.
Dr Miley is a very uncaring rude doctor. I saw him in 2015. He misdiagnosed me saying I had the gout when in fact I was suffering from RA. Every visit he would come into the examination room and look at me like he never saw me before. He couldn't remember my family history even when he was looking at the computer medical record. Finally he said he didn't know what he could do for me and couldn't offer any advice.
Dr. Miley is an exceptional rhuematologist; he is thorough in his assessment practice and treatment. When I came to Dr. Miley I had seen at least three highly recommended rhuematologists who were unable to handle my complicated case. Dr. Miley saw me as a person and not just a number on a test, he began an assessment process that involved seeking deeper levels of data to determine a diagnosis and then a treatment plan that he continually oversees and revises as needed. I highly recommend him!
When it comes to bedside manner, I believe this Dr. didn't attend his courses that semester. He was rude and truth be told, I honestly can't say how knowledgeable he is because I never went back after the initial consult. That's how disappointed I was. He had a nice staff, if there was any redeeming facts of his practice. I wondered what they were thinking about him. They must need the job.
Dr. Miley seems to be very distracted. He has a very poor attitude towards his patients and medicine in general when asked about another health issue. I get the impression that he really does not care and is arrogant. Perhaps he should have retired years ago,
