I have seen Dr Shin off and on over the past 15 years. Initally it was for sciatica pain. His methods of dry needling and acupuncture combined with minimal pain medications was exactly what I needed at that time to limit the pain and allow me to continue working when I initially could not even get out if bed. After these techniques I followed up with physical therapy to get my body back in alignment. I saw him again when diagnosed with colon cancer in 2005. His respect for what I was going through and his true compassionate manner helped me with the diagnosis. His brilliance as a pain management Dr, his knowledge of the human body, along with his degrees in neurology and psychology make him the perfect doctor in such a difficult time. Dr Shin helped me with all facets of this disease. He taught me the posts of using mind, body, spirit, positive thoughts, and how they all are intertwined allowing for healing. I appreciate his knowledge and that he makes you feel like you matter, he never rushes you out of the office. I've learned many breathing techniques, which areas of the body coordinate to different pain areas and why both acupuncture and acupressure can alleviate many symptoms of cancer pain. I'm currently seeing Dr Shin for my stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis. It's one of the few appointments I actually look forward to coming to as I know I will always leave in a better mood and with less pain than when I come in. His receptionist Erica is a truly positive last who always greets you with a smile. If it wasn't for Dr Shin, I'm a firm believer that I would have given up on trying to beat cancer as it's a grueling disease. His techniques of mind, health and his wealth of knowledge in terms of non medication related ways to heal work! He's even doing a new technique that is only used in Korea right now that I personally am believing is helping me to get up and through each day. It has to do with acupuncture but no needles. I'll let you make the call and your own appointment to see what it is. I'm alive today because of Dr. Chang Shin!

I am a late 30's male in continuous pain. I am thankful a friend told me of "The Painless Clinic" as it has significantly improved my quality of life. My wife and 4 children are glad to have their daddy in good "working order" too. I began treatment 6 years ago. Every joint hurt and my low back was so excruciating that I had couldn't extend my arms outward to wash my hands. Dr Shin is an excellent listener and is a master of true accupuncture. He prescribes medications when needed and wisely. Dr Shin not only treats you medically but cares for the soundness of your "soul"- (Im not referring to religion). Dr Shin is interested in your overall well-being. He has shared so much wisdom and insight and it has changed my life. I was able to quit smoking cigarrettes with accupunture alone. Dr Shin never hurries and will take his time to make sure to answer any question you might have. The waiting room is comfortable and wait duration, is short if any. If you have pain, then see Dr. Shin.

Did not listen. Began painful acupuncture, then injection without explanation. Looked disgusted when I asked him to stop.
