Dr. Ryu saved my life.I had years of back pain,shooting pains in my leg,both feet numb and could barely hobble from one end of the house to the other.I had given up many activities I loved.I was unable to do the simplest housework and stumbled and fell a lot.After an extensive consultation including x rays,MRI etc. Dr. Ryu said he could help me. I needed a complete laminectomy,fusion and a new disk put in;the reason for a lot of my problem is that there was no disk left and vertebrae were rubbing bone on bone. Within a day of surgery I was up and walking pain free. I had pain from the incisions and surgery site but none of the previous shooting pains and numbness. I cried when I took first shower after surgery because I could feel the tile under my feet,it had been years since I felt anything and I walked with my toes curled and "gripping".Dr. Ryu took as much time as necessary to explain everything, answer all questions, showed us the actual hardware that would be installed.His staff took several hours with my husband to work out a medication schedule after surgery to include the medications I was already taking for other issues.After care was just as good. Dr. Ryu is a genuine,caring,very knowledgeable and one of the few Drs. that actually takes as much time as needed with each patient. Sometimes he does run behind schedule, but he is helping someone else understand their diagnosis. I am positive my appointments ran late as well. Also note if you have a hard time getting up and down they have special "higher" chairs in the waiting room that make your time more comfortable. I would and have recommended Dr. Ryu to several people.

I found Dr. Ryu to be very capable and knowledgeable. He is also a very kind and compassionate doctor. I had 40 years of back pain from numerous conditions. Many were treated but without long-term success. I had an extensive and complicated surgery by Dr. Ryu and within two months I was pain free. Prior to the surgery, I was very close to being unable to walk but that is no longer a problem. I found the staff to be efficient and helpful.
