*********BEWARE*********** The office staff is terrible, and the so called doctor is too. My mother had a surgery that suppose to have been a day surgery and she ended up in the hospital for over a month. Then she was in the hospital back in forth til she passed away. Babineau very unconcern knowing he had accidently cut her esophagus that would cause my mother unable to eat after getting the esophagus stretch over 20 times having to b put to put to sleep over and over. I called the office many of times and never got a response. Im assuming its about the money only he dont care for his patients. I lost my mother due to Babineau negligent not one time have this man called me back. Im a only child and have no mother I have given this to God to take care of and will be in touch with medical board since Babineau is not wanting to speak with me. And i will for sure put the word out there in the world about him, and yes their are other patients have lost their lives behind this so called doctor.

My mom used him when he first started doing WLS...BIG PROBLEM! She almost died...got a stalph infection and he was just as scared as she was. I think he was just inexperienced at that time. Horrible bed manners. Nonchalant he is. I see hes improved and have refferals good dor him.

Staff, except for Freida, were not rude in any way, just don't go out of their way to be helpful or appear to want to help you thru this process. Some I felt were not knowledgeable and would 'pass the buck' when I asked a question. Once my appointment was written down wrong, and when I showed up at the wrong time, Freida told me I was 'outta luck' and although she knows I drive almost 2 hours to get there, told me I'd have to come back the next day even thought the receptionist told her that it was SHE (the receptionist) who had made the mistake, Freida wouldn't hear of it. She kept insisting it was my mistake, but another staff member came and volunteered to stay to do the test I was scheduled to do. Dr Babineau may be competent in his surgical skills, but he doesn't spend enough time with his patients to build a doctor/patient relationship and gives Frieda way too much control. She appears to have 'burn out' and no empathy or compassion for Dr. Babinea's patients.

Dr. Babineau is very smart. He is in surgery most of the time so he doesn't see patients all day in the office because he can't be two places at once, who can? Freda is like a family member now to me. His other staff is very helpful. Laurie is very sweet. Highly recommend!!!

I used Dr. Babineau for m Gastric Bypass surgery and have had nothing but success. His staff is very helpful and willing to answer questions after surgery to help me make the adjustments in my new way of eating. I found that after I followed the rules and guidelines given to me by them that I have had no complications and have got my life back. I think he is very competent and would recommend him to do surgery on me or a member of my family with no doubt. I was over 300 lbs before surgery and now I weight 145. My ideal body weight. Sounds like a success story to me.

Terrible and rude people. Frieda won't shut up about her husband, what SHE eats, what it was like to have a fat sister that died long enough for you to ask questions. Of course none of us have ever had the thinner sister that didn't mind telling us what we are doing wrong (yea right). If like me you are stuck with these people my best advice is read everything you get in your folder. In 3 months I have saw Dr. Babineau for about 10 minutes total. Frieda is one of those that will look right through you (we have all been there) and don't go in there in any kind of pain as a lot of us are (we already know it's because we are over weight)she literally grinned and tried to hold back a laugh at me in front of another patient. I'm praying after I have surgery everything is successful so I never have to speak to these rude people again.

Babineau does not follow specific guidelines set forth by leading surgeons when it comes to aftercare and possible leaks within the abdomen. He is most concerned with the number of patients he can get through in one day. Other doctors from Florida to San Juan to Utah, who are tops in their field, insists that there is no reason that a patient with a suspected leak should not have his/her doctor go in and correct the leaks with surgery and/or a special sealer developed for that purpose. Two East Texas doctors strongly suggested that he look at a patient who had leaks in the past, but he refused. She died after being released for only one week from a hospital with no medical help from this doctor.

This doctor runs patients through like cows. He operates and does no follow up care. I know one person that died because he said, "there's nothing wrong with my surgery." He has a N.P. that does aftercare, but has overfilled a friend's lap band causing serious problems. BEWARE!
