The first treatment I did was in March and I did the fresh cycle which did not take for me. This was my second cycle which was a frozen cycle. The medicine you take prior to insertion of the blastocyst was very easy to take and for me did not cost very much. This cycle ended up in a positive pregnancy.

Dr. Akin and his office are the best. They were friendly, informative, easy to schedule with, and used the most current science and technologies to date. They took my concerns seriously and always gave more information than I expected. I would highly recommend them for fertility assistance.

I feel that Dr Akin has limited knowledge about infertility. Before spending money on him, I would at least get other consults.

Dr akin and staff are great!! I went in afraid IVF wouldn't work, but they kept me positive. I got pregnant on the first try and now have an almost 3 month old. I would highly recommend Dr Akin, he is very knowledgable and caring. I'm seeing a lot of negative comments on here and I'm guessing the reason is because they didn't get pregnant. I feel bad for the women that had failed iui and ivf, but don't blame the dr. He can only control so much and during the consultation he goes over how much of a percent you have for your weight and age of getting pregnant. I had a 49% chance of it working and my husband only had 1% good usable sperm. So that made my % of getting pregnant less. I see how easy it is to blame someone else for not getting the positive outcome they wanted but Drs aren't God. I read all of the information they gave me and it was very clear that it usually takes 2 times to do ivf for it to work because youve done the fertility drugs longer. Thanks you all for everything!!!

After a failed egg retrieval, Dr Akin accused me of not taking the releasing medication on time and took a blood sample while I was still under. After receiving the results he called to apologize and stated that this had never happened before. He offered no other explanation. After a MC on #2 attempt he left the office after the ultrasound for us to compose ourself, we have yet to hear a word from him (that day or since). Not knowledgable if your out of the norm and terrible bed side manners!

Cannot even describe how bad my experience with central baptist and Dr. Akin was. I had surgery to remove fibroids and my life has been a living he'll ever since. Stay FAR AWAY from him. He has no bedside manner and seems to be very fond of making money over deciding what's best for the patient. He's arrogant and did not care about me after he got his money from my surgery. He all but shooed me away after my postcare visit. There's bound to be better doctors out there for you and your needs!

I have been Dr. Akin's patient for the last four years (2010-14). In that time, he completed two successful surgeries (one to repair a septate uterus and the other for endometriosis) as well as guided my husband and I through the emotional, confusing world of infertility, which finally resulted in pregnancy through IUI (on our first try with IUI!). Although infertility treatments can be expensive, Dr. Akin was very clear about costs, providing all of the information up-front, and worked with us to figure out the best possible treatment path given our financial situation. Throughout the entire time when I was a patient at Bluegrass Fertility, I felt 100% comfortable and cared for. I never hesitated to call the office to ask questions prior to or following procedures. The staff there is amazing- knowledgable, kind and approachable. I would highly recommend this practice for anyone with specialized fertility needs.

Dr. James Akin with Bluegrass Fertility Center and his staff are always very welcoming and very informative. My husband and I had a consultation with Dr. Akin and he was able to provide us with all the information that we needed, as well as some additional information. We had some initial concerns, but he was able to discuss all the possibilities with us. We have previously worked with Dr. Akin through the process of IVF and had a successful pregnancy. We have chosen to work with Dr. Akin again, not only because of his success rate, but also because he is an excellent doctor, has a very efficient facility, and his staff are always knowledgeable and efficient, as well. We love Bluegrass Fertility Center and the staff. I have recommended this center to others in the past and I will continue to recommend them.

I began seeing Dr. Akin after a miscarriage and finding out I had a septum in my uterus. He removed it and some endometriosis. He did fine with the surgery and am very pleased with that but afterwards I never got pregnant. After 5 months of clomid and one failed IUI, I finally switched doctors and went to Cincinnati. I am not unhappy with Dr, Akin I just feel he did not monitor me close enough or put enough effort into my infertility. I also felt that he was annoyed with every single one of my questions and was always in a huge hurry. After going to Cincinnati I wish I had never wasted my time there.
