Ratings for Dr. Ashkan Ghavami
3.1
Extremely overpriced and rude.. I’m guessing he saves his manners for celebrities and social media influencers
I got my rhinoplasty done by Dr. Ghavami. I can honestly say I did not have a good experience with his team. From start to finish it’s been highly unfavorable, unprofessional, and unfair. I scheduled my consultation in 2020 for 2021 as one can surely imagine, I highly anticipated on finally getting to sit down with him and waited an entire year to finally do so.A week prior to my consultation date his office mate nonchalantly called me and cancelled my consultation date with no remorse nor consideration . (Because he and his office already know you are dying to meet with him) the receptionist or whoever called me had a very pompous attitude about it ( you know, the whole “you need us, more than we need you “ attitude) so of course to my detriment this notion was unfairly used against me, and I had to take whatever it is they could give me. I was hurt about it but I had to suck it up if it meant I was going to work with Dr Ghavami. Come 4 months after that, my consultation comes, and he seemed nice but he was very pompous as well, he didn’t spend much time with me and seemed to be in a haste (which kind of rubbed me the wrong way but again, I silently brushed it off didn’t want to step on any toes as a new patient. Then, I was unwittingly assigned to Nancy the patient coordinator. I found her to be very condescending, fake, and disrespectful. She’s clearly there for eye candy because she is not professional at all. Which I’ve read about online through reviews. But I went in with good spirits a good attitude and didn’t want the negative reviews to cloud my experience nor my aura going in- because again I so desperately wanted this all to feel and be right. But unfortunately again I experienced first hand how horrible she was. Nancy does not respond to emails, no calls, nor any other inquiries you have unless you’re literally sitting in her face (which even then it’s still hard to get to sit down with her). So please know this ladies (or men) If you do decide put your money down for anything at this office for anything at all, you can expect to be treated like immediately after payment and during your surgical journey, because the communication from that point on will be pretty much non existent and likens itself to pulling teeth. I also find it off putting that Dr Ghavamis practice plasters their phone number all over media, begs you to call them, but when you do? The office is notoriously hard to reach, literally no one ever answers the phone. So just know as well, if you have an emergency you are sooooo screwed if you ever needed to call them. You’d have a better chance at reaching the depths of hell before getting one of thereceptionists.Entertainingly , if you do happen to come into the office ironically the receptionists attendance rate at work looks stellar because the receptionists are all sitting right there :
This Dr has the worse bedside manners ever. That should have said that enough about him but I ignored it as tried to stick to his reputation and knowledge. I had my nose done prior to visiting Dr.Ghravami and wanted it redone. He made empty promises. I was very clear with what I wanted to achieve and he was confident it was doable. With the exception of me breathing better he actually made it quite worse. In addition he left me with a huge scar and bruising under my eyes that are still there a year later. He left a very obvious bone on the side of my nose making my nose appear quite crooked. When I discussed the mater they stated he would do it for feee but I would have to pay for the anesthesia. I had no choirs but to put another $3500 on my cc to pay for this procedure. 6 months later and the bone is still there. My nose is still crooked, scar and bruising still there but now in addition one my nostrils are much bigger than the other. I have been trying to get a hold of them for over a month now. They are flat out ignoring my calls, messages and emails at this point. I decided to pay nearly $30,000 for someone who specializes in rhinoplasty but it was NOT at all worth it. I truly regret ever even considering him. Please, please, please save yourself the anxiety and anguish and find another more professional doctors. He is beyond over rated and absolutely NOT worth the travels or money.
Staff is absolutely horrible. Decided not to proceed because of their lack of customer/patient skills. The cost is 40k btw.
If you are looking for an aggresive surgery go to him, he can ruin your life forever.
He was an hour late for my.scheduled appointment and rushed me.through his consultation. After.I was given the.cost for the S curve, I decided that.I.would.not.be going forward with the surgery at.that.time. I canceled a.month in advance.and was not refunded or given an alternative way to compensate for the 3,300 deposit. This was very discouraging as he did not lose any money as I canceled way in advanced. Not sure why he is not offering a way t satisfy his clients. At least offer other non surgical options.
Extremely overpriced!!! Consultation itself was 500 and procedures are a fortune!!!
Dr ghavami and his entire staff are amazing, my entire process was very smooth starting the consultation and into surgery. One of his nurses called me the following day after surgery to check in with which gave me peace of mind knowing I was not alone.
Had a primary rhinoplasty with Dr. Ghavami. VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY RESULTS. I talked about and gave inspiration for the type of features I wanted in my nose asked about what my limitations were for me specifically, my results were completely realistic ACCORDING to Dr. Ghavami during our pre-surgery consultations. In fact, he kept saying that the inspiration photo/look I showed him, that the tip was too boxy and that he would give me an even better nose. I don't think he even listened to what I was saying, because he just wanted to quickly finish and hop onto the next patient. I asked for a very realistic, nature result. Very slight narrowing of the top and nostril, even if it looked a little boxy so that it would have a natural shape. Now, my nose looks VERY VERY VERY artificial. Dr. Ghavami shaved down my nasal bone/height so now my nose looks curved and not straight like it used t and I NEVER asked to have the height of my nasal bone lowered. The only thing that I can do now is put cartilage in a revision surgery to build up the height but the BONE can not be put back obviously. My tip looks pinched in and the shape of the tip of the nostril looks very artificial. Especially from oblique and profile view, completely out of balance with my features/face. Just because Dr. Ghavami is a "celebrity plastic surgeon" known to work with celebrities, does not mean he is GOOD with REAL, average joe patients. It seems like he's only interested in doing his best work if you are a) a celebrity/public figure b) if you sign up to release your photos and videos of your procedure for his use. I do plan on making a YOUTUBE video to document my review, my post-op and pre-op nose where you can see such a starking difference with the tip shape and NASAL bone that has been shaved down. After I expressed my displeasure, post-op, Dr. Ghavami kept telling me to wait and wait to see results (which I understand is natural). However, a year later my procedure in my post-op consultation, he was just like due to your ethnic nose there is only so much you can do, etc etc and for your nasal bone, I suggest a filler (UH, NO thank you, don't want to be injecting my nose with fillers every 6 months) and basically he just seemed to want to get the post-op consultation over with. He kept ignoring the fact of me mentioning to him that I never asked for my nasal bone height to be shaved down. Dr. Ghavami is just arrogant and I was foolish to believe that arrogance to equal SKILL, and a quality of a good surgeon. Dr. Ghavami is only interested in giving his time, skill to A-listers and celebrity patients as he receives more publicity, and clients. Will be doing thorough research for my revision. I would HIGHLY recommend that you do your research BEFORE going to Dr. Ghavami and don't let his "I can do this is. I can do a better job than this. I'll give you a fantastic nose" speech and the fact that he's been featured on TV into thinking he will actually listen and give you good results.
