Poor. Insufficient staff to create a safe environment. Cleaners and overnight nurses dealt with a lot of the most difficult situations. No easy follow up or access to therapists except in group settings. Psych was there to prescribe, but as a 'leading' PTSD clinic, it was pretty traumatic not having access to one on one therapy. Model involved sharing 1-20 trauma story, then 20 to now trauma story, no professional support preparing or after, and really placed a lot of traumatised people in the position of being the therapist. It was really quite bizarre and cult like. No DBT or CBT etc, just group exposure therapy, public shame based accountability, and gold stars for lasting an extra week. One of the saddest experiences of my life seeing so many unwell people squished in with so little professional qualified support. Also it is a detox as well as a PTSD clinic, and covers every disorder under the sun, so for anyone with VT, I really would suggest not going to this clinic. Finally the directors gave half baked lectures that were not accurate, and seemed to be carry extreme enmeshment codependence issues themselves, though they have profited enormously I imagine from unresolved denial deflection projection, and an obsessive need to resolve what they clearly are unable to resolve within. NO ONE has photos of mum and dad in their professional office. It's just weird. Don't go there. There are excellent clinics overseas at half the price. Also with the young ones and then the old ones with sex addiction and/ or survivor issues, it was just really concerning.

How on earth can you charge private health insurance rates on twin rooms? This will not be told to you when you contact though. Antiquated bootcamp style therapy where "levelling" techniques on addicts are used to reorient their outlook. Expect to lose (or get ripped out of your bag) quite a few daily normal things that only fringe (unscientific) ideas consider harmfully addictive, - coffee drinkers anyone? I won't even begin on the some of the dodginess cbt techniques- more levelling...

The staff, the nurses, the therapists, the doctors, the program- all incredibly good for healing and growing. Also location, daily beach walks, and the sugar free food- excellent for healing. Best in Australia really.

I became an inpatient because I was suffering depression and grief over the loss of my partner and baby son. My phone was confiscated the moment I checked in. This made it hard for me, as I was not able to contact my loved ones when I wanted. Nurse Elaine should maybe look for a more suitable job, not dealing with people who are suffering grief.. I had a run in with her and she would not accept my apology. Instead, I was cast onto the street at 9.30pm last Australia day evening. SPP appears to be a good place for people suffering substance abuse. But then again, there are NA and AA meetings all over Aus. SPP did not meet my needs in relation to the massive grief that I was suffering, and still do. I do not recommend this institution. I met various inpatients who were at SPP to avoid or reduce jail time for drug trafficking convictions. It is definitely not worth spending $800 /day to stay in this institution,

Beyond terrible. Lack of single rooms, brainwashing techniques, very rough and disadvantaged clientele.
