Biography

Dr. Rao completed her residency in psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University and School of Medicine (JHUSOM) in 1999 and served as the Chief Resident during the last year of residency. After completing a one year fellowship in Neuropsychiatry, she joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins in 2000. As neuropsychiatrist, she has experience in treating emotional and behavioral problems associated with different types of brain injuries including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI),stroke, epilepsy, Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease and other types of dementia. She also has experience in evaluating and treating several depression symptoms of psychiatric disorders such as, bipolar disorder, Manic depression, substance abuse, anxiety attack, post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD symptoms, schizophrenia, Concussion symptoms, Seizure, Neuropsychiatric disorders, and eating disorders.
