Biography

Melissa Smith, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in interventional pain management. She treats chronic pain in all forms, including spine pain and radiculopathy, joint pain, fibromyalgia, migraines and neuropathy. To help patients manage pain, she offers trigger point and knee gel injections and BOTOX® for migraine prevention. Melissa chose to pursue a career in medicine because she is passionate about helping people improve their health and lead their best lives. She enjoys collaborating with her patients to develop care plans that suit their individual needs and preferences. Melissa holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) — the highest nursing degree — and is always learning and growing. She embraces the challenge and variety that a medical career offers, as she can gain new skills and knowledge every day. When she’s not seeing patients, Melissa loves spending quality time with her family and exploring the beautiful nature and culture of Colorado. Watercolor painting is one of her favorite hobbies, and she loves that it’s simultaneously relaxing, creative and challenging.
