Biography

Dr. Vlas is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, a Primary Care Provider in FL and a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncture Physician. He earned his M.D. degree from the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) and his PhD in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, China. After graduating from the medical school, Dr.Vlas has moved to China where he spent 10 years studying Acupuncture and working as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. As the only foreign physician to have passed PRC Ministry of Health license exam, he currently holds a Doctor of Chinese Medicine license in China, and is a member of the Chinese Medical Association and Chinese Acupuncture Association. Dr.Vlas underwent training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Weill Cornell Medical College / New York Presbyterian Hospital and worked as Physiatrist at MEDPARK International Hospital Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. A Medical Doctor in EU countries, Dr.Vlas holds a board certification in Rehabilitation Medicine in Moldova. Further, he taught Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College and American Academy of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. Most recently, he was a Vice President and a Dean of the Doctorate program at the University of East-West Medicine, California and an Academic Dean at the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL. Currently he is a Professor, Attending Physician and a Doctorate Program Clinical Directorat Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Vlas’s specialties include pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation and integrative orthopedics.
