Dr. Thakkar is not equipped to handle period-related issues such as endo. I expressed my concerns over birth control side effects and she brushed them aside, saying the progesterone only pill was totally fine. Does she really believe that, or was that medical gaslighting? Well, when I was still hesitant, she recommended I see a psychologist! No other options to treat the pain. If you have endo, save your time and don't bother. I will say though that she is really friendly, I like her as a person but not as a doctor.

She is simply the best! She is both knowledgeable and compassionate. I am so lucky to have had her as my OBGYN for both my children.

I was accepted as a new patient last year, had a routine pap and everythjng was fine. A year later, my family doctor sent a referral and it was denied. Now that there are problems, I am left finding yet another ob because apparently she can’t see me until next year. The last thing I want to do when there are problems is worry about finding someone I trust. I did that already with Dr Thakkar, only to be left struggling to find someone else because she is too busy to see her patients. If she was too busy, she should have declined to take me on in the first place.

Dr. Shiela Thakkar, was my Gynecologist. She was extremely careful in taking care me when i was pregnant for my first child. Knowlegable, passionate and friendly. She did my emergency C- Section effeciently. Amazing Dr. indeed! As well as her staff was so helpful . I highly recommend her for mom/ future mom looking for best OBGYNE.

Dr Thakkar is quite honestly the best gynaecologist I’ve ever seen! I had a large fibroid that required removal due to loss of blood. And she was the only one who took care of it for me swiftly and with compassion. I’m so very lucky to have her on my side - she even held my hand to calm me down at the beginning of the surgery. She was extremely knowledgeable, confident and empathetic- I highly, highly recommend her!

I went to Dr Thakkar after my family Dr urged me to see a specialist. I had been in Dr Thakkar’s care 3 years ago, I starting having an issue last year and this is how long it has taken for me to get a reply after my GP faxed twice to this office. So this time I walked in my referral requisition. I was told she is accepting new patients (it also states online that she is accepting patients) but will review the requisition and then decide if she will see me. They called me and said she refused my referral, no reason given. Just coldly told me to find someone else. She has left me completely abandoned as a patient. When I first called last year they told me i just had to get a referral sent and then an appt could be booked. My matter could be something very serious, especially given family history. I don’t even know how Drs get to choose patients without an assessment. She likely just read the requisition and denied. So unprofessional. Doctors are not supposed to abandon their patients, especially given my reasons for referral.

Dr. Thakkar is the best doctor I've ever had. She's very proactive, knowledgeable and dedicated. She even called me in the evening one time, on her personal time. That was totally unexpected - I've never had a doctor call me at home before.

I'm blessed to be under her care. To anyone reading the negative reviews, take them with a grain of salt. Anytime you look at reviews, whatever they are about, there are some negative ones. I just can't believe some of the ones that are being written here.

You are in good hands with Dr. Thakkar!

Dr Thakkar did my mom's Total Laparoscopic hysterectomy. My mom is 65+ and Dr Thakkar did her surgery. She explained everything and made sure my mom is okay with the process. She did all the required test as soon as possible. During the whole process she was very warm to my mom. Her surgery was successful and she recovered well. Dr Thakkar's staff is always helpful.
